Welcome to the 60's Slot Car Proxy.
After absorbing the feedback I have received I can offer the attached document for consultation, which will be then used to fix the rules for this proxy.
This period will last until 1st May.
You will note that there are 4 possible Events proposed to which you are invited to enter 3 in seperate Events
Ideally I would like to cap the entry to 10 cars per event unless any of the proposed Events does not gain sufficient support (min 7)
There are no ProCars permitted (Slot it, NSR, Thunderslot) for this proxy.
Any comments will be carefully considered and may be implimented if it fits in with the general consensus and is alighned with the intentions of the Theme.
I would be greatful if your interested in entering, if you can add your name to this posting with a clear view as which Events you would wish to participate in ?
For Example: Roadrunners Event 1,3 & 4
The intended start of the proxy would be Early November, cars to be received in October.

If anyone wants a really useful list of F1 cars from those years:

Should note that only Rear Engined F1/Indy cars of the period permitted.

Motor availability is a problem, nearly half of those on the list aren't commercially available any more, Fly, MRRC, Ninco, SRP.
What about some of the up-to-20k motors on the current Global Touring Proxy list?

I agree that it is a problem trying to get a decent range of motors from our UK supplier.
many of course would be available in the RTR cars if entrants have them to use.
Some are available on a limited basis, the Pioneer 18k rpm is still available to buy from Slot Car Union for example but rarely seen at PSR. The SRP ones are bought in a seemingly random manner.
I have tested the Scaleauto 20k motor and its really a 22k rpm type, the NSR 20k motor is possible according to my measurements but I would need to check again.
The Slot it 21k motor would be OK to consider , but the 23k motor is probably too strong for these small narrow cars. And there is the issue of ID of the Slot it motors, luckily recently they have introduced the black wrapper which could be an answer.

I like the idea of keeping a 20k max limit.

Having checked a couple of the NSR 20k rpm motors again, I have added it with the Slot it 21k rpm motors, and added a additional requirement that the motors must have a ID marking or wrapper with marking. I have noticed that the more recent Slot it 21k motors without wrapper do have a DTM marking on the side.
That should improve the motor choice.

I will insist on having visual ID slot it motors, so no old red or brown ended “ maybe” versions will be allowed.

Another motor anomaly is the Scalextric FF050 motor which although publicly stated was an 18k rpm motor was always more in the 22k rpm range and also had no labelling or sticker.
