Nice looking cars, Nico!

The Capri colours. I have seen them somewhere before.  Bigsmile

Cheers,

I bought 2-cars a while back basically for the chassis. The bodies were ugly colours, and covered with flames.

I stripped both cars, and repainted them. I finally found the time to complete the details. Both cars have moved up in rank among the fleet.

I got my licence in a white 1974 Vega. The good old days.

A friend and influence by the name of Bill (Model Murdering) inspired me to think about slamming a T-jet style body.

I received a gift of two identical 1958 Plymouth Belvedere bodies in lime green with blue flames. Perfect to compare. Thanks again, Pete!

The first one was made using a new chassis, wheels, and tires. The blue chassis matches the flames. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.  Tease

I have been collecting Tuff Ones wheels/tires for a while now. Everything goes into a drawer.

I took 2-sets of front wheels and cut the inner hubs down to size. Installed them with narrow axles. Then chopped a huge amount from each body post.

A slight difference from the original height.

That's my tinkering for today. Thanks for looking.

Today's tinkering...

An Auto World 59 Impala with Vincent wheels at the factory body height.

Another chassis was installed using narrow AW wheels on the front, and medium wheels on the rear. Body posts were trimmed to suit.

The 58 Belvedere now has a racing mate. I could not lower the back of the Impala as much as the Belvedere because of the window deck.

We got fancy with the Impala. It has independent front wheels, and wider tires on the rear. Ultra high performance.

Love the paint - and the new stance - of that Belvedere. Why can't AW sell them set up like that. It looks so much better.

Hi Top Down,

Thank you for your kind words. The paint is to the credit of AW. I just slammed it a little.

I took the liberty to lower the Impala a bit more. That required removing the inner decks from the window.

I could not do much about the rake. The center line going down the trunk lid makes the plastic quite thick in that area.

The original height.

It actually sits a bit lower than the Belvedere. More chassis can be seen under the Plymouth.

We also upgraded the rear tires to Goodyear. Let's go street racing!

Hi Nico,

Thank you very kindly, brother!

I had one last experiment left to try. Apparently it works. I'll let the pics speak for themselves.

I bought some bodies at the last show. The white/yellow Aztec body was quite the mess with decal adhesive.

I ended up throwing it into a tub of Super Clean to strip everything off. Down to the bare body.

Back to a clean canvas. Ready for fresh paint.
