That would be nice. The F2 sounded much better than the Turbo WRC cars.

Oh yes, the revs on those things - gloriously painful to the ears
The red Citroën will be the Jesús Puras / Carlos del Barrio ZX kit car from the 1997 Rallye Catalunya and the white #11 is the ZX kit car driven by Jon Casais to fourth place at that year's Rallye Internacional de La Coruña.
Three special editions in that list - the 1987 Olympus Rally release is a triple-pack: Kankkunen, Biasion and Alén finishing 1-2-3. A (very) muddy Toyota Celica from the 1992 Safari Rally (looks like the #6 of Alén & Kivimäki - although the #8 of Sainz / Moya won...). And the Stratos is Björn Waldegård's car from his first San Remo win in 1975.
The Renault 5 Maxi Turbo and Morocco Rally Escort RS2000 were announced and expected in 2020. The Alpine A310 looks to be a re-release of a 2013 model of the Carlberson-sponsored car that Guy Fréquelin and Jacques Delaval used during their victorious 1977 French rally championship campaign.

Unfortunately I agree with Woodcote about the announcements. Many of the cars are not new announcements, and some were already produced over 3 years ago. Sadly, a bit disappointing :(
1. The 11705 Toyota Celica muddy car was announced in January 2019.
2. The 12706 RS2000 BP was announced in January 2019.
3. The 12109 Renault 5 Turbo was announced in July 2019.
4. The 12503 Alpine A310 Calberson was already released in October 2017.
5. The 90020 Lancia Stratos was already released in October 2017.
6. The 13301 Citroen ZX isn't from Catalunya 1997, check the number plate and decals etc and you will see it is a 1996 car. Also, I can't find any record of that number plate doing the Catalunya Rally. Can you get more information about this one please ?

Maybe I'm easily pleased Gary

To be honest, I'll be delighted if those previously-announced cars arrive this year - and the Alpine and Stratos are pretty tasty re-releases too. I noticed a significant number of the new and returning home racers during 2020 are rally fans, so the marketplace is there... As for the lovely Lancia Delta 4WD HF - two great non-Martini liveries and 4 significant works cars too.
I am particularly thrilled about the kit car... I have been tempted by the older resin models, but they are not great runners and aren't finished to the same stunning standard we've come to expect from Team Slot in recent years. So to have the Citroën (and hopes of more?) with new Team Slot mechanicals and an updated, injection-moulded body and super decoration and detailing - that has excited me as much as any slot car announcement this year, so far... The ZX is marked "Rally Catalunya '97" on the Team Slot flier, so I suspect that's correct - not the photo. The Jesús Puras / Carlos del Barrio car is the only ZX kit car I can find that started that rally.
Away from rallying, those new Zakspeed Escorts (and the X-Packs) look fabulous and appeal to a different - but equally passionate - fan base. The kit car(s) could be a bit of a cross-over... For me - as a twentysomething at the time - they were bonkers-fast rally cars and looked like the hot hatchbacks we wanted to be driving (which turned out to be an Ibiza in my case), rather the 4x4 "dad cars".

Andy, apparently according to the following site, Jon Casais's Citroën is a ZX 16S, not a Kit Car. This is what I found:
https://www.ewrc-results.com/final/7252-...runa-1997/
Gary, in Martin Holmes's World Rallying 1997-1998 on page 71 it says:
33rd Rallye Catalunya-Costa Brava 1997:
Entrant Citroën Hispania, driven by Jesus Puras/ Carlos del Barrio, comp.no. 15, Citroën ZX Kit Car, Reg. No. 5-P-1480(E), cause of retirement: front suspension.
https://www.ewrc-results.com/carinfo/81-.../?spz=4057
It is often quite difficult to find out the correct data of Spanish rally cars,
I hope what I found will be correct.

This is what really had me excited!
I didn't see it on the 2021 Release flyers that were posted by Andy (woodcote) ... does that mean it's not happening?

It is happening - it's a UK-only release so isn't in the 'catalogue'. Staffs Slot Cars are expecting it in September.
All the 2021 Team Slot cars (including the Minton Zakspeed) are available for pre-order at MRE (
here) and Pendle Slot Racing (
here).

After a bit of a disastrous start to the year, Teamslot are gradually getting their 2021 models out to retailers. The January releases are available and the first of the scheduled February models is nearly ready...
This is the Escort RS2000 X-Pack 'Yellow'. Expect it to be available during August. This is what the wheels will look like...
A second car on the production line is the UK-exclusive limited edition (200 units) 'Nordic Blue' RS2000...
This will also be available in August, having been planned for an April release.
More Teamslot news when we have it.
As always, a big thank you to Steve at Staffs Slot Cars UK for updates and pictures.
