Team Slot New Releases 2021
#1

Over the next few days, Staffs Slot Cars UK will be unveiling some of the Team Slot cars we can expect to see in 2021.

We already have these four cars on the radar for release this month...

Team Slot 12906 Lancia Delta HF Martini - Winner Monte Carlo Rally 1987 - Miki Biasion / Tiziano Siviero. RRP £55.99. Expected January 2021.
Team Slot 13001 Ford Escort RS2000 X-Pack 'Venetian Red'. RRP £49.99. Expected January.
Team Slot 13002 Ford Escort RS2000 X-Pack 'Daytona Yellow'. RRP £49.99. Expected end of January.

Team Slot 13003 Ford Escort RS2000 X-Pack 'Diamond White'. Special edition racing version with lightweight interior, fast motor and alloy rear wheels. RRP £57.99. Expected January.

There are also some UK-Exclusive cars that have been revealed today...

Team Slot SRE24 Ford Escort RS2000 Nordic Blue. Expected April. £55.95

Team Slot SRE28 Ford Escort RS2000 X-Pack Rothmans. Expected June. £66.95

Team Slot SRE29 Ford Escort Zakspeed. Expected September. £66.95

The Zakspeed Escort is a long-awaited new car and so we should also be seeing the previously-announced UK-Exclusive SRE21 Rothmans version before too long...

The Delta is a fairly important car as it replicates the winning debut of the Group A Delta that went on to establish a long series of World Rally Championships.
It would be fabulous if Team-Slot move forwards from the HF 4WD to the HF integrale, thereby filling the gaps of the available Lancia Slot-Cars.

Hi Leo,

We always should keep in mind that the Rallye Monte Carlo debuting Lancia was not a legal Group A car.
It became successful because Audi did not want to be unfair and didn't homologate their long-wheel base Audi Quattro into Group A.
At the beginning of 1986 Lancia and Audi both had not produced the for Group A required 5000 cars within 12 months.
Besides this the Lancia used a lot of non-homolagated parts and not allowed holes in the front for better cooling of the turbo engine.
If Audi would have homologated their Quattro, it would have been maybe even more successful than the Lancia.
We will never know.

Hello Hub,
By the time of WRC moving to Group A, the UR Quattro was an old car with the in-line engine placement making it very nose-heavy compared to the emerging Group A contenders.
Walter Rohrl did a grand job in 1987 putting a 200 Quattro into 3rd place but Audi seemed to lose interest in rallying as they chased the American market.

Hi Andy,

Many thanks for posting the TeamSlot 2021 program.

Unfortunately, this is not the first TeamSlot Citroën ZX 16V. It was already in their 1998 catalogue:

Another version can be find on ebay here:

Nevertheless, I am very happy with their new Lancia Delta HF 4WD versions.
The Patrick Snijers winning Boucles de Spa 1987 car is a must have for me, because I often visited this event in the 'seventies and 'eighties.
Spa in the Ardennes is only about 50 miles from where I live.

As was their Citroën ZX KitCar. I am not sure if it also had been produced at that time:

My assumption is that is a brand new new car - injection-moulded body and new chassis. That seems to have been the evolution process of the company.

I'm a big fan of the F2 kit cars...

Personally, I would love to see Team Slot produce a new version of the Ibiza.
