Specifically, those that stay 2 or 3 abreast on town roads with parked cars, country roads, just about any road really !
I myself have a nice bike, a Cannondale CX4 quick (not with me on it  Rofl) and when on rides out with a mate, we will always fall into single file as soon as we see or hear a vehicle coming behind, or oncoming if the road is narrow or the vehicle wide.
But the amount that don't do this when I am driving in my car just beggars belief. They are on a road with vehicles that can be traveling 3-4 times their speed, and yet they hog the whole side of the road and then get irate when some cars don't give them much room.
It seems its the "lycra warrior's" that tend to do this most, "normal" cyclists seem to use common sense round these parts.

Hi all

What are the flat round resistors for on motors usually in off the shelf cars?

All of the new motors I've bought (Mabuchi and Slot it flat 6) don't have them so do I need install one on a new motor or can I run without?

Thanks

Rob

Hi! Got my Slot.it Lola Aston Martin today. What a sweet car.

Looking at the PDF that Slot.it has put out to help w/the conversion, where do I find the screws that they suggest???

Can't find them all in one location.

2 M2x6 grub screws (PA37) or alternatively 2 M2x3 grub screws (PA40)
1 M2x4 flat head screw (CH41)

Any help would be great!

Morning all

Probably opening a can of worms here but what tools/kit would you not be without for scratch builds?

My builds mainly consist of converting die cast to slot and kits like mrrc. Plus fettling with older cars to try and improve them so looking for recommendations to build a kit up in addition to my screwdrivers, pliers and dremmel!!

Cheers

Rob

Hello all, I  have been asked to do a "Rosberg" edition of the McLaren MP4/2C that he ran in practice for the 1986 Portuguese GP.......this was the only appearance of this car in the Marlboro "Light" colours.

As it is for his club NSR F1 series, I have obviously used one of the NSR white kits.

I did want it to look a touch closer to the actual car, so a few simple body mods have been made.......the sidepods have had the holes for the top mounted intakes filled, the  side vents have been closed in, vents cut into the top rear of the sidepods, and the wing has been lowered approx. 1/8th.

The rear wing has to be painted/decaled, some more suitable wing mirrors need to be made, detail bits to be sorted, and , the whole thing clearcoated.

Still lots to be done..................

I thought that the interior was more or less done,........until I look at the close up Macro lens shots [Image: yikes.gif] ..............right glove, hole in left shoulder, and a bit of helmet clean up need to be done,.....but, without the evil Macro lens highlighting these mistakes, it actually looks quite nice [Image: wink.png] .

I did add some gauges to the dash, but, they can not be seen from this angle.

I will post updates when done ......both the body, and the chassis build.

Cheers

Hello All,

Greetings from Mississippi, USA.  It has been 60+ years since I have been involved in the hobby.  I raced on commercial tracks when a teenager back in the 60's until the hobby died out in my area.  I have always been a car fanatic and currently own a full size 68 Mercury Cougar and an 87 Bill Elliot Special Thunderbird.  I was intrigued recently with some slot car posts in my car groups.  Started searching the web for what was available and got the bug.  I recently purchased a Carrera 132 digital set and am up to seven cars and various accessories in about 3 weeks time.  I settled on digital because I think it is more realistic but also because I am a caregiver for my wife and confined to home most of the time.  Digital gives me the functionality of competing when I have no one else to race against and the ability to adjust speeds for my wife and grandkids.  I would love to build my own vehicles but not sure if I will be able to devote enough time to the effort.  I have a special interest in early NASCAR, Trans AM, classics, and hot rod style vehicles.  Your site is very informative.  I am looking forward to diving in and really learning the hobby.  Ron
