The track plans that have been produced on here, were they done by someone on the forum?
If so would it be possible to get Donington Park track plans like the F1 Track Plans and elevations?
I'm trying to get elevations of the track to use on my layout.
Thanks
I'm Frank-Peter van de Goor from the Netherlands 55 years old, and a retired race-instructor.
I've always been interested in cars, classic cars and motorsport from an early age. Which resulted in a huge collection of model cars, books, magazines, brochures.....and slot cars of course.
At the age of 10 I received a Fleischmann slot car set as a gift from my parents. My biggest desire has always been to make a model racing track layout with scenery. During the first lockdown I could fulfill this dream.
I hope to showcase my work here with the aim to inspire you....My work includes building slot cars, scratch building scenery.

Not seen this mentioned but Dave Kennedy (previously a Hornby rep in North America) has interviewed Simon Owen.
I pleasantly surprised to hear that he is an active slot-car enthusiast.
Topics are wide-ranging and the conversation flows easily and openly.
Referencing TV/Movie cars, Simon points out that many more people watch TV and Movies than go to Racetracks.

Retired US Navy vet continuing to serve my community as a volunteer fire fighter. Marries to my best friend for over 35 years, we have three grown children and two chihuahuas who now run the house. Looking to get back into the hobby after being away since the late 80s. Looks like AFX HO Scale as won over Carrera Digital 1/32, but have not made the final sale yet.
Looking for advice from those who have been doing this far longer than I, so some questions may be forthcoming.
Dang glad to be here.
Returning to slot car racing after a 42 year hiatus lol! Digital systems are a game changer, and I’m so late to the game.
This is my first Carrera Digital track. It’s around 70 feet long, 5 right turns, 5 left turns, including one high banked R3, and one high banked R2. Two pit boxes, although I’m having an issue getting cars into the first one... This is a newbies first attempt without a track planner (there are gaps), and no R4 or standard R3 or R2, with mostly used track from ebay... It is evolving, more borders, and possible extension coming soon. Having fun using the Smart Race app.
This one is dedicated to the 2018 Le Mans 24hr race, and Porsche in particular, as it was their 70th anniversary of racing at Le Mans. Carrera produced a few of the Porsche 911 RSRs that participated in this race, and offered a commemorative “Double Victory” set in 1/24 scale featuring the two winning Team Porsche cars in the GT pro category.
My small collection of Carrera digital cars are just those that were in this race, in 1/32 scale. But I do have a few DTM cars. The rest of my small slot car collection is mostly Scalextric, for a digital track I have yet to assemble.
Looking forward to learning, and hopefully at some point contributing to this great forum.

I'm marshalling at the Brands Hatch Winter Stages tomorrow - Round 4 of the 2021-2 MSN Circuit Rally Championship. There are 100 entries and eight stages running through from a frosty 8.45am to a very dark 5.45pm. Warm clothes are at the ready.
Coverage is here: https://www.facebook.com/BrandsHatchWinterStages
Motorsport News used to sponsor the rather bonkers national road rally championship in the late 60s and early 70s, which all became "a little illegal". Road rallying is heavily restricted these days, but the circuit rally scene is a great way for fans to see thoroughbred rally cars away from the forest stages - we don't have any of those down south. The Brands event is run by the Chelmsford Motor Club, who also organise the 'Corbeau Seats Rally Tendring & Clacton' - which kicks off the British Rally Championship in April.

Looks like I'll be on the Brands start/finish line, which is a merge point on the morning and a chicane in the afternoon. Could be busy.
Teaching Tech just posted a great video showing the viability of various, currently available, 3d scanning technologies for the purposes that would most relate to what we hope to do, which is a small part with complex curved, but smooth, geometry with the goal of printing the thing we scanned with minimal work to edit the scan prior to printing.
TLDW: It costs a fortune, and still needs work before printing.
