MMK 1933 Alfa Romeo Le Mans Winner The 1933 Le Mans 24hours remains one of the narrowest racing finishes at the race – excluding the formation finishes of later years. Going onto the last lap, the two Alfa Romeos were very close, and the lead changed three times: greater speed allowed Nuvolari to overtake on the Hunaudières straight, but better brakes allowed Chinetti to re-pass at the Mulsanne corner. Nuvolari took the victory. |

The Mini Marcos was the only British car to finish the race in 1966, albeit nearly a hundred laps behind the winning GT40. Forget Ford vs Ferrari, Jem Marsh and Frank Costin's little Mini-derived Marcos coupé is the star of this particular story. |
