This week we feature several Scalextrics, a couple of new NSRs, a brace of Racing Replicas, and a static kit conversion with one of Ken’s excellent chassis, plus we have the latest events, a discussion on 3D printing, the latest videos, and our photo of the week.

• New from Scalextric A bunch of new Scalextric cars has arrived with retailers this week. There is the Shelby Cobra Targa Florio twin pack, the Ford RS200 Police car, a Bill Shepherd Cobra, a Tyrrell P34, a Lotus 99T, and an Andretti Formula E.

• NSR Pink Pig Porsche The NSR Pink Pig Porsche is due to go on sale at the end of the week, and is now available to pre order

• NSR 25th anniversary Formula 86/89 NSR are celebrating their 25th Anniversary by releasing this limited edition Formula 86/89 car. The car sold out immediately on the NSR website but you should be able to pre-order from one of their dealers.

• Scalextric Lotus Esprit S1 Scalextric have posted new photos of the forthcoming Lotus Esprit S1 which was driven by Gerry Marshall at Silverstone in 1981. The model is now available to pre order.

• Racing Replicas Corvette Stingray Pete Shepherd, of Racing Replicas, has recently completed a build of a Corvette Stingray C2, which is based on a 1960s Revell car, and is a tribute to the Roger Penske Sunuco car.

• Racing Replicas MGB GT Another recent commission from Pete Shepherd is this MGB GT, which is a modified Pendle Slot Racing kit. The model is a copy of the owners full size car complete with sunroof and Rostyle wheels.

• 1963 Chevy Impala SS Ken has slotified this pre-built, pre-painted, 1/25 scale static kit, with one of his excellent custom built aluminium chassis. The interior is next.

3D Printing

• 3dp Layer resolution testing An interesting discussion on the minimum layer thickness that a 3D printer can manage, and the effect that has on the print quality.
