Victory Industries Ltd, or VIP, started during the Second World War, manufacturing electrical components for the Ministry of Supply.

After the war it went on to produce a wide range of model vehicles, and from 1956 began the pioneering development of its Roadways, and Raceways slot car systems. VIP's products were highly regarded in the 1960s, and though Victory couldn't match Scalextric's popularity, it often beat them on quality.
