RevoSlot Ferrari 333 SP

RevoSlot have just released more details and pictures of their new car - the Ferrari 333 SP.

Following on from the previous Porsche 911 GT2, Marcos LM300 GT2 and Dodge Viper GTS-R, RevoSlot now have a 1990s sports prototype for us. The Ferrari 333 SP was very successful in the hands of privateer teams in Europe and North America, winning the 1995 and 1998 IMSA constructors' championship as well as four FIA Sportscar championship drivers' titles between 1998 and 2001. SCX produced a nice 333 SP, but the RevoSlot version is a completely different beast in terms of bodyshell modelling and what sits underneath.

The first two cars - due in the UK this month - are models of the red #27 car that raced in the 1997 IMSA championsip and the blue 'Pilot' sponsored #10 car from the 1998 Le Mans 24 hours. The front ends of the two cars are different which has meant RevoSlot have produced two different body shells and two different versions of the body plate component of the aluminium chassis. The red car has the moniker 'Type A' and the blue car 'Type B'. White kits will also be released in both body and chassis versions.

Underneath is another anodised aluminium two-piece chassis, anglewinder 21k motor, ballbearing bushings front and rear and aluminium hubs all round - all components designed by BRM.

An annotated view of the chassis and available spare parts is here (click to view full-size)...

RevoSlot cars and parts are distributed in the UK by Pendle Slot Racing. Pendles and MRE both have the two cars on pre-order at a few pennies short of £72.

Many thanks to Sean at Pendles for sending the photos and release information to us.
