Christmas ‘Turkey Targa (Florio)’ 2025
A great turnout this week, nine of us! This meant three groups of three for the Rally stages with the added advantage of a quicker than normal turnaround.
.
There’s multiple class wins available, by MSCC class type and Targa Florio car class type so don’t fret if you race a small or standard car, chances are you’ll do well.
.
Three newcomers to our Targa Florio events used the club Ford GT40’s which all went much better than expected (the cars that is) on the Rally stages, in fact they went better on those than on the circuit for which they’re setup for…(I might have to get one myself).
.
The three groups of three each started on a different Rally stage, each person with one car all night (apart from Jamie who’s borrowed GT40 had a technical failure! - so was swapped for a tried & tested Club GT40 of many miles and years use).
.
We all drove for three minutes on each Rally stage with the number of completed laps added to the total laps (and partial laps) achieved in three minute round-robin racing on the three lane BallaYorkley Circuit.
.
When it was all over we had a photo shoot with Mike’s Christmas Turkey hat (it was the Turkey Targa after all)

.
That’s the final scheduled event of 2025… but there was a fair amount of interest in opening the club on Saturday 27th December for a Saturday Scalextric Club morning as there’s cars already bought for the Saturday club waiting under some club members' Christmas trees.

All of the club rules & regs and classes for circuit and Rally, plus the 2026 race calendar plus a helpful overview of the reduced number of classes and there’s even a picture file to use as a lock screen on your smart phones to see at a glance what we’re racing every week…have been finalised and uploaded to the club Facebook page.
