WHO Digital Wednesday January 2023
#1

The start of our 2023 WHO/digital season has been re-jigged slightly - we'll be starting with our classic format of Nascar club car team race and Pioneer Legends pairs race in January, February, March and (probably) April. The GT season will start later in the spring and go through the summer.

Our January event kicks off the racing year at the Barn - as always, doors open at 6.30pm with entry £3 for adults and £2 for under-16s. We ask that all racers aged 12 and under bring a responsible adult with them.

There's practice and Digital Driving School from 6.30, the team race runs from 7pm to 8.30, with the evening finishing with a Legends pairs race.

MEDALS WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING MEDALS....

First race of the year,we had a bumper barn full of 26 racers and I think 4 new faces, hope you survived the first visit to the barn..

Evening got off to a bit of a hairy start when laptop refused to play ball,Jean kindly reduced it to a chassis and a thousand screws  Sweating

However, all went back together and we managed to get access to the internal software via 50inches of T.V.screen Yes

Medals to Jean and Oliver for getting us back up and running Bravo

I am now attempting to post the nascar team race results.....First attempt hasnt quite gone to plan...bear with me Tappingfoot

Second part of the evening  saw 9 Pioneer legends cars for the pairs team race..

Mike/Jeremy, Simon/Duncan, Kevin/Issac, Mike Mc/Ollie, Alex/Mark,   first quali round

Pete/Jerome, Oliver/Matthew, Dean/Ash, Terry/Ryan, second quali rouund.

Just a gentle nudge gentlemen racers, the legends class now has a 21mm minimum tyre height
on original fitted rubber tyres
So no wafer thin strips of liquorice on those rims please Bigsmile

We had two quali rounds, top three lap scores go straight into the final, and the 6 remaining racers
battle it out in a semi final heat for the remaining 3 spots in the final...

Quali finals

Alex,Dean and Oliver went straight into the final
6 remaining fight for 3 remaining places
SEMI FINAL

Mike,Simon and Terry took up last three places in final

FINAL

Very good racing by all here, and the key to the 6 minute heat was to make your fuel last in the first segment untill the driver change window came,

there was quite a few racers waiting in the pitlane fueled up and waiting to go.

Really appreciate the restraint exhibited by drivers in resisting the urge to go early Thumbup

Much thanks to the set up crew and to the computer tech guys who got us up and running and all the help in the tear down

it couldn't happen without you Drinkingcheers
