We still have plenty of WHO Digital action to look forward to in 2024, but it is also time to plan for next season. The 2025 WHO Digital Guide has just been publish and can be downloaded here
The guide includes almost everything you need to know to race at our WHO digital events in 2025. For racers new to Scalextric digital racing, we do require you to complete at least one - and ideally two - of the Nascar & Legends Wednesdays before progressing to our other events. This makes sure your digital learning curve is as smooth as possible and ensures everyone has maximum fun.
Here's a summary of next season...
- The popular Nascar & Pioneer Legends Wednesdays feature in January, February, July and August. These remain fantastic fun and are the perfect introduction to our Scalextric digital racing. All equipment is provided and there are also championship points to be won!
- The WHO Digital GT Championship sees six GT teams compete for two-hours at Wednesday evening events in March, April and May - with a four-hour climax to the championship in June. Our six team captains provide cars for the championship, although you can run your own GT models in June’s warm-up pairs race.
- The WHO Goodwood Revival is back in September. All six Goodwood classes are now squeezed into the day. The team and pairs races come first on the timetable, with the individual races in the afternoon. This is, without doubt, the most nerdy event of the year - and we make no apologies for that!
- The WHO Birkett Relay gets a third running the following month - now as a six hour endurance race. Like the real event, every team runs six different classes of cars for an hour each. There are prizes for the overall ‘scratch race’ winners and the winners of the ‘handicap race’.
- The season ends with two Tin-Top Saturdays in November and December. These will feature a three-race BTCC competition, a Group A team race, a Carrera Classic Nascar class, plus the Muscle Car Mondiale heats and feature format.
- There’s also a return for the Wednesday night test session in August to help prepare your cars for the autumn Saturdays.
One rule change to note is that any standard-depth guide may now be used on GT cars, fitted with a suitable adapter (eg Pendle, Andi Rowland, Johhny's Workshop etc).
As Ryan is now studying up in London, we are looking at creating a Silver-Silver pairing for the GT Championship, which Ryan could join if he's in town. However, he has earned the accolade of Gold driver, so will keep that designation for 2025.
Planning ahead even further, Legends will take a break in 2026, with Scalextric & Pioneer 60s-70s Trans-Am / American Muscle cars returning to the Wednesday evening pairs race slot. This will leave just European models for the MCM Tin-Top Saturday format in a rebranded 'Euro Saloons' class.
Of course, if you have any questions, just ask.
