BRM 1:24 Scale Models 2022
#1

I'm delighted to be able to introduce some of the BRM 1:24 scale models scheduled for release in 2022. A big thanks to Davide at BRM and Sean at Pendles for sending us the news and images. What we have is some new models, more liveries and the announcement that there'll soon be a brand new mould unveiled (all I can tell you is it's another Ford).

Let's start with three cars due at the end of this month...

There's the BRM134 Opel Kadett GT/E from the 2014 Zolder Festival - plus two Escort Mk1 models. The BRM127 Gulf livery is from the 2013 European hill climb race at Eschdorf in Luxembourg. The purple livery a model of the Erik Berger Racing Escort that raced in Sweden, featuring at the 1969 Dalsland Ring race. Expect to find these on pre-order, with a small price increase (£109.99 at Pendles is a £4.99 increase - or 4.7%).

Following in March and April are two more liveries on the R8 Gordini, the 1975 Le Mans class-winning Heidegger Racing Team BMW 2002ti and the Team Europa Möbel 2002ti from the 1974 Hockenheim DRM race, driven by championship runner-up Jörg Obermoser. Official photos of all these cars will be available soon. These are prototypes...

BRM129: R8 Gordini - Yacco 1964
BRM-SC04: R8 Gordini - Escudería Repsol #1 - Copa TS 1971 Rasilla (Spanish special edition)

BRM135: BMW 2002ti - Kleber #91 - Heidegger Racing Team - Winner Touring Group 2 Class, 24 Hour of Le Mans 1975
BRM139: BMW2002ti - Team Europa Möbel #50 - Winner Div.II DRM Hockenheim 1974

Next, there's some pictures and colour schemes for the first VW Scirocco models...

After a long wait, BRM are almost ready with the first two liveries on their Volkswagen Scirocco. Davide sent the full artwork for the cars and some photos from the first test shots of the mould...

Here's more details of the liveries...

BRM136: VW Scirocco - Team Spiess Tuning Jägermeister #53 - Helmut Henzler & Willi Bergmeister - ETCC Zandvoort Trophy 1977
BRM137: VW Scirocco - Team Zender GmbH #81 - Werner Dittert - DRM Nürburgring Eifelrennen 1978

Next, more liveries for the Alfa GTA Junior...

The BRM Alfa Romeo GTA Junior has proved very popular. In 2022, we can expect two new authentic liveries, plus five two-tone cars that will have a decal sheet with racing numbers. First, pre-production photos of the two new liveries...

BRM140: Alfa GTA 1300 Junior - Levi's #79 - Pierre Rubens & Charles-Axel van Ryn - 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps 1971
BRM141: ALFA GTA - "Black Edition Jochen 70" classic hill climb car

The black car uses a livery from a current classic hill climb car - a replica 1971 Giulia Sprint GTV, which you can see here. It's a very nice livery.

Now those five cars that will be perfect for club racing...

BRM142: Alfa GTA - Alfa Delta #18 - Red/Blue
BRM142S: Alfa GTA - Alfa Edition Silver/Red
BRM142R: Alfa GTA - Alfa Edition Red/White
BRM142G: Alfa GTA - Alfa Edition Red/Green
BRM142Y: Alfa GTA - Alfa Edition Yellow/Green

Next, a couple of new liveries on another popular car...

The little Autobianchi A112 Abarth has been a big success for BRM - and there will be two more liveries this year. Both are historic racers - one in the German VFV-GLPpro series, the other a Italian classic rally competitor decorated in a scheme based on the Trofeo A112 Abarth 1977 competition.

BRM143: A112 Abarth - Abarth Historic Driver VFV-GLPro series - Joachim Beck
BRM144: A112 Abarth - Marlboro #218 - Gianluca Pesavento & Andrea Fiorin

I do like that Trofeo A112 Abarth Marlboro livery very much.

That's it for now... but keep an eye out for the unveiling of a brand new BRM model. The announcement will be soon, with the car scheduled for September.

Thanks again to Davide and Sean for the images and details.

Looking forward to the Scirocco, I have been collecting the Jagermeister cars.
The BMW Le Mans winner is on the list, and I am also looking forward to seeing what liveries they choose for the Capri when it comes out in September, lots of great choices.

I'm looking forward to getting an Alfa. In red like it should be.

However, no-one has any in stock. All the new ones look like fun but why not keep up the supply of older models if they have been so popular? - with very good reason in the Alfa's case.

They did a second run of the red Lola the first run sold out. I don't know how many they do in a run - but their website says they sold over 3000 of the Gulf mini.

More news and a few more pics of the Scirocco from BRM...
Quote:The new mould of the already announced VW Scirocco is now ready. Here they are the photos from the first mould test. There will be available two different bodies, historic classic one and also a modern version used at classic meetings or for hill climb races with side skirts and front/rear big spoilers. We'll start the production soon and the first liveries will be available in June 2022. The pre-orders are open at your usual dealers.

It's easy to see the two versions from these pictures.

The first two liveries are with the 'classic' body style.

There are more images of the Alfas from BRM this week...

And the selection of generic liveries do look pretty nice...

There are also the first CAD images of the new Group 2 Ford Capri RS2600, which I'll look at separately soon...
