Scalextric have their usual Advent calendar this year:

The first day saw desktop wallpaper of Hub's Swedish Rally track...
Behind the second door was the traditional video looking at Christmas gift ideas...
Today, there's a fascinating glimpse of a 2021 new release...
What's your guess? A TWR XJS? A Broadspeed XJ12? Or something more modern? Nice teaser

The set won a prestigious toy industry award at the London Toy Fair back in January - as reported here:
slotracer.online/community/showthread.php?tid=1019
Several My First and Micro Scalextric sets have also picked up awards in the past twelve months or so - positive coverage like that certainly helps gets slots cars on the radar of young families. The Micro sets seem to have sold incredibly well in 2020 - the Aldi UK exclusive set disappeared off the shelves really quickly and I've noticed most of the other other sets gradually going out of stock on the Scalextric site and elsewhere.

Today's offering is round one of the Scalextric team's Christmas drag race...
It's a great way of meeting members of the Scalextric team and seeing inside the old Hornby factory. And is there a new 2021 car revealed in the final race?

Behind door number six is another competition, this time for Scalextric Club members only. This is the prize...
That's a 2020 Australia-only release - the Triple Eight Race Engineering Commodore shared by Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup at the 2019 Bathurst 1000. The livery is a throwback to the Toranas raced by Peter Brock and Colin Bond in 1971 and celebrates fifty years of Holden factory involvement in Australian motorsport. A very nice prize indeed.
Find out how to enter - and how to join the Scalextric Club - behind door six:
