The little white DPR plug in Scalextric cars can be a right pig to remove, often resulting in broken fingernails. There is a tool available which works very well and makes the job simples but but there is no reference to it in any Scalextric literature.
Their Hornby locomotives use exactly the same plug and the tool, part #X6468, is generally available from model railway shops. LINK
