Anyhow, here's what my M6 may ultimately look like.
As with plenty of time on my hands (Covid) I decided to do a livery that was pleasing and challenging...and boy was I challenged.
Compared to this livery, the DiSCA Proton decals I did were a walk in the park.
Of course the Sideways M6 proportion being a tad off didn't make it easier

Anyway. here's the original car, one of the most stunning liveries ever done for the M6 GT3 (and with a good chance, one of the most stunning liveries overall)
Walkenhorst "Crystal Flake" M6 GT3 NBR 24hrs 2017
Team Walkenhorst has quite a reputation for running exotic liveries on their cars. For 2017 Dunlop sponsored a Art Car design contest, more than 77,000 designs were submitted, renowned artist Jean Pierre Kraemer winning with his “Crystal Flake” livery, here's what he had to say about the design :
“The chosen design is very impactful and will be very noticeable in the field. The design is modeled on the past two years with a lot of shadow play and many individual polygonal figures that break up. Thus the viewer has the impression that the structure is not quite smooth and the design looks like a crystal.”
Well stunning as it may be all those individual polygonal figures have kept me very very busy in the past weeks.
And it didn't help that the Team seems to make small alterations to the "design" on a race per race basis. Not did the version I wanted to recreate ( the NBR 24hrs car) by crashing during the warm-up, meaning very few reference pictures were available.
But so far...I've managed to get it..this far.
Following my usual procedure of doing a full body wrap to produce a set of templates, then endless sessions of drawing, printing, test fitting, redrawing etc etc.
Most likely will split this topic at a later stage as I have some stuff planned for the car which go beyond a straight out of the box build of the sideways white kit.
With kind regards
Tamar
