Firstly am doing this for the first time all from my phone. Have always been convinced my old Nikon was the way to go but with the quality of current camera phones thought I would give it a shot.
I managed to pick up a model kit a few years ago so it sat for a while as I knew so much work needed doing.
I ground off the front bumper completely, fit an original homeset chassis ( it did not come out with this chassis) and then convert to the 53 lemans car. Not completely finished but this is progress so far.
I had to add aluminium tonneau, cut radiator for added spotlight and cut the driver to fit - so now have a 1 legged driver ?
Oh yes - before i get hauled over the coals - not quite the right BRG - but it is what I had and used - BRM BRG - very very slight metallic glint as a result.
Also tried to re rout out the opening lines as this caar did not come out with them.
Looking good Anthony,. .........what paint did use??........I build a few BRM's, and while I have what I think is a good BRM paint, I am always looking to try others.
Firstly Chris - Uk motor spares outlet sell spray paint, and this is one of those:
This is where it is at , at the moment. I had to cut the monogram homeset chassis as the wheelbase was too short. Added to that there was just too much flex . So taking on board Chris’s changes I used piano wire to link the cut chassis as well as strengthening the chassis internally.
Tried to scribe the panel lines as best as I could. Added front spotlight and fuel tank cap, but it still needs fettling on the spot, around the headlights, driver and then add an exhaust.
