Lights are 12volt LED strips like these:
Pack of four, £2.99 on
eBay. They are ready to go straight out of the packet and can be cut to size if too long or too bright. Several colours available but warm white is best for buildings.
They run off the secondary 12v output of my track power supply.

You could also use a battery box and a simple switch to power them..

In accordance with government advice I have been forced to apply social distancing to my little people and move them all at least 2 inches apart:
Mind you, one antisocial marshal has commandeered the last remaining bog roll:
There are no current plans to suspend racing but I may have to remove all the little people and run it behind closed doors.
