A two speed gearbox for those straights would be nice  Idea

Two speed gearbox no longer needed although I do need to start glueing tyres Cool

However, I am also building an alternative chassis from brass to take a nice NSR King motor - 50,000rpm it says on the tin. Should be fun, the 38,500 I already have is quite nippy.

Now the car has a driver too! I've just received some decals courtesy of Colin (Wraith) and they are of the usual high quality.

I did the artwork and quite forgot that I have some white cars so I did all the lettering in white of course! However, the coloured cars are OK but I will have to do another one and send it orf.

Haven't posted my bits here lately.

Things bodywise have been a bit quiet but thoughts are having to turn to the next Bordo event which is for open wheelers. Indy, F1, that sort of stuff.

Different for me as I didn't have any! I did one of each scale with a 24th kit and a 32nd blob but I never like only having one of each scale so had to look around for something suitable. Not a lot! 24th especially seems ignored.

As balsa would end up rather thin, it seemed sensible to find cars I could make out of plasticard. First up is Tyrrell 005 in its prototype form before it expanded further. I hadn't realised just how wide F1 cars were in 1972 (cut off date) It's ginormously wide, as wide as the widest Chaparral. 24th scale, just had its first proper coat of blue but still in need of rubbing down and making good before final coats.

Once that's done, I am considering - gasp Anthony - making a Ferrari. That'll be two then Sun

This one Sweating Should be fun in plastic. Drawing first as there aren't any out there that I could find.

Shush! One of Ronnie's few complaints is that I take ages to do stuff in the garden Bigsmile

My mind appears to be elsewhere. Strangely....most of the time.

Few more bits done. Floor and sides to front vents. Floor to side vents and some turned rear intakes.

I was worried they looked a bit big but I know the Tyrrell is to scale and compared with the Honda they look OK I guess. The Honda isn't a giant car but F1 cars did expand a bit in the 70s.

Hi Gordon , will you be able to enter the Ferrari at Bordo as it never raced in a Grand Prix ?
