I'm trying to find local groups or clubs in the North Orange County, California area. Anyone out there know of a way to find a list of either groups, clubs, or even tracks in my area. I've tried searching but I'm just not very good at it I guess. The only one I'm finding is Electric Dreams, which is a good distance from me. I'd appreciate any help on this.

Email Electric Dreams and ask them. They are very active in the North American slot car world and are have contact with many clubs.  
There is a group known as "Norcal Slot Car Racing Association". Their web site is fairly quiet but they list four clubs here -   https://www.norcalscra.com/contact.php 
One of the reps from the Modesto based "Motown Raceway" appears regularly on the World Wide Slot Car Chat.  This is a Zoom chat and is published on Youtube.  You could ask on there.  https://youtu.be/56yD4Fgws04?t=803

There's another way to race.

Make a track and host races.

If you build it. They will come. 

It's a bit more work and money at the start. But, look at all the travel time and gas you'll save forevermore.

Once you build a routed track. You'll have a hard time going back to plastic.

I've been searching the forums and watching videos so I think I've got it figured out. I hope, lol. I've been working on a plan for a hoist system so I can raise it up to the ceiling, or at least almost to the ceiling, I have storage racks that hang down from the ceiling. Of course if I could get rid of all the junk that is in the racks I'd have no problem lifting it up to the ceiling.

That's a great idea. There are videos on the Tube on how to make a winch system for your track.

Know what one guy had under his track? A totally different track!!!
