Ferrari 612P
#1

Another car which I entered in the Rockingham "American Pie" competition was this Ferrari 612P for the "Can-Am Class"

This was a very last minute build, the 3d printed body & chassis from PGR Slot Cars.
The motor was a short can SRP 35k rpm, I had bought a 25k motor from PGR but decided on a more familar motor type.
Although I practised with the car I felt that the motor was too fast and difficult to control for this occasion, so I just entered it into the Concors.
But again looks very promising for the future after I have more experience with it.

The decals was from C&C Design in the UK, which worked very well

Awesome - even though in real life it was unsupported and unsuccessful, it is one of my favourite cars - I have multiple versions of it. Very nice!!

Definitely a potential Can Am proxy car in the future.

I bought the PGR 25k rpm FC-130BB motor, however it's magnetic Force (cogging effect) was too high to test it on my Carrera track, but I may try it again for next time we run the can Am cars on our wood club track. The Scaleauto 25k short can did not seem powerful enough for the chassis.

This one was done several years back,..... an original Aurora shell.

Love the chassis, Chris. Brass and wire is always beautiful to my eyes…. even some lumpy old creation from the past.

The Aurora body is not easily found these days.

I should also mention that the model David Mitcham and I produced was the first incarnation of the Canam 612 which I believe failed on lap one of the 1967 race in Las Vegas.
