29th October 2025
Undara Circuit Race Write-up: Dominance and Close Battles. Race results and podium from the 9 different races at the Undara Circuit, featuring four drivers: Paul, Johnno, Deeks, and Ray.

This series of nine races at the Undara Circuit showcased a remarkable level of competition and consistency, with Paul establishing himself as the premier driver, winning seven out of the nine events on his home track. However, the competition was fierce, with the other drivers; Ray, Johnno, and Deeks consistently challenging and occasionally breaking Paul's dominance.

Race-by-Race Analysis
1. Paul's Winning Streak (7 Wins)
Paul was the undeniable powerhouse, taking the top step in every Slot.it, Sideways, and Revo race:
  • Sideways Huracans: This was Paul's most commanding win, with a final score of 104.89, the highest score of all 9 races. He also clocked a blistering 6.126s lap, setting the Current Race Best Lap and coming extremely close to his own overall Race Record Lap of 6.083s.
  • Slot.it Group C & LMP, Sideways Group 5, Revo's, Slot.it Can-Am: Paul maintained his dominance, winning comfortably in these categories. He set the Current Race Best Lap in all of them, demonstrating not only superior consistency but also the fastest single-lap pace in most races.
  • Trans Am: A tight victory for Paul (88.47 Score) over Ray (88.22 Score). Johnno managed to set the Current Race Best Lap (7.304s), indicating how closely fought this race was on speed, despite the score gap.
2. Challenging Winners (2 Wins)
Ray and Deeks successfully dethroned Paul in two key events:
  • GT International (Winner: Ray): Ray delivered a superb performance, winning with a score of 96.86 and also setting the Current Race Best Lap of 6.705s. Paul finished second, over 7.5 points behind, marking one of his largest deficits.
  • RWYB 15 (Winner: Deeks): This "Run What Ya Brung" event saw a significant shake-up. Deeks took the win (68.69 Score), with Paul finishing second. Notably, this was a race with overall slower lap times and scores (Deeks' best lap was 8.003s), suggesting challenging conditions or different car specifications leveled the playing field, allowing Deeks to capitalize on consistency.
Ray was the most consistent challenger, finishing in second place four times and securing his win in the GT International race. His ability to challenge Paul's pace was clear in the Sideways Huracans race, where his best lap of 6.227s was very close to Paul's 6.126s.

Johnno was the podium mainstay, with two second-place and three third-place finishes. His standout performance was in the Trans-Am race, where he set the Current Race Best Lap (7.304s), demonstrating superior single-lap speed despite finishing third.

Deeks was the most improved performer over the series. While he generally finished 3rd or 4th, his stunning victory in the RWYB race proves his capability to win when conditions or machinery favor consistency over raw speed.

Lap Time and Record Analysis
Paul's overall dominance is underpinned by his control of the circuit's record books:
  • Race Record Lap: Paul holds the Race Record Lap in all nine classes, with the fastest being an incredible 6.083s in the Sideways Huracans category.
  • Current Race Best Lap: Paul set the Current Race Best Lap in six out of the nine races. Ray set it twice, and Johnno set it once. This confirms that while others can beat him on overall score, Paul is usually the fastest driver on track over a single lap.
Conclusion: Paul, The Undara Champion
The race series at the Undara Circuit can be summarized as a display of Paul's sustained excellence. His seven victories and complete ownership of the circuit's Race Record Lap for every class mark him as the overall champion of this series.

However, the wins by Ray (GT International) and Deeks (RWYB), along with Johnno's ability to sometimes set the fastest single lap, ensured the series was not a total runaway, with all four drivers demonstrating the skill to achieve a podium finish.

Race Day Report: Undara Circuit

Paulo Dominates, Ray Strikes Back, but LMP Gremlins Steal the Show
It was another high-octane day of slot car racing at the Undara Circuit, featuring a five-driver lineup battling across seven distinct classes. While Paulo asserted his general dominance and Ray mounted several strong challenges, the headline story of the day was the sheer chaos that engulfed the Slot it LMP class.

The LMP Meltdown
If there was a theme for the Slot it LMP round, it was "survival of the fittest." It was truly a day for LMP failures, turning the usual pecking order on its head.

The timing screens told a confusing story: Johnno set a blistering pace, clocking the "Current Race Best Lap" of 6.393 seconds. However, pure speed couldn't overcome serious issues on the track, as Johnno finished dead last. The chaos in the mid-field was equally palpable, with Deeks and Ray finishing over 44 laps behind the leaders, huge gaps suggesting significant incidents or mechanical failures.

Emerging from the carnage was Ian. Usually found battling further down the order in other classes, Ian drove a remarkably clean and steady race amidst the failures around him. He held off a hard-charging Paulo to take a shock victory by just half a lap (101.94 laps to 101.39), proving that in LMP racing, sometimes just finishing is half the battle.

Paulo's Powerhouse Performance
Outside of the LMP anomaly, Paulo was the man to beat, showcasing incredible consistency and speed across multiple categories.
  • Trans Am: Paulo opened with a comfortable win, putting over 15 laps on the field and setting the pace with a 7.208 best lap.
  • Slot it Group C: Returning to normality after the LMP round, Paulo stamped his authority here, winning with 101.51 laps and the fastest lap of 6.456.
  • Sideways Huracans: This was arguably the closest finish of the day. Paulo just barely edged out Ray in a thriller, taking the win by a razor-thin margin of 0.21 laps.
  • Revo's: Paulo capped off his strong day with another win, holding off a very competitive Johnno by just under a lap.
Ray's Resurgence
Ray ensured it wasn't entirely the Paulo show, putting together some fantastic performances in the faster GT classes.
  • GT International: Ray took top honours here, completing 103.73 laps to beat Paulo by over a lap, despite Paulo snagging the fastest lap of the race (6.535).
  • Sideways Group 5: Ray secured his most dominant win of the day in this class. He finished more than 4 laps clear of Paulo, putting in a commanding drive with a score of 102.79.

Mid-Pack Battles
Behind the leaders, Johnno and Deeks traded positions all day. While Johnno suffered the heartbreak of the LMP round, he bounced back with strong second-place finishes in Trans Am and Revo's, and secured the fastest lap in the Revo's class. Deeks was a model of consistency, securing third place in five out of the seven races.

Summary
It was a day of intense competition at Undara Circuit, defined by Paulo’s multi-class mastery and Ray’s brilliant GT performances. But the day will be remembered for the bizarre and brutal Slot it LMP race, where mechanical failures opened the door for Ian to claim a memorable underdog victory.

Race Report: Action at Undara Circuit
11th March 2026

The engines were humming and the braids were sparking this session at the Undara Circuit. It was a high-octane day of slot car racing across eight different classes, featuring a consistent roster of five drivers: Paulo, Johnno, Deeks, Ian, and Ray.

While one driver emerged as the clear "man to beat," the leaderboard saw some intense shuffling and lightning-fast lap times as the classes shifted from classic Trans-Am muscle to modern GT3 speed.

Paulo’s Near-Clean Sweep
Paulo put on a masterclass in consistency and raw pace. Out of the eight featured heats, Paulo took the top spot in seven of them.
  • The Fastest Run: His performance in the Sideways Lamborghini Huracán GT3 class was particularly blistering, clocking a 6.297s best lap and completing a massive 135.84 laps.

  • Close Calls: He faced his toughest challenge in the Sideways Group 5 category, where he edged out Ray by a mere 0.22 laps.

Ray Breaks the Streak
The highlight of the day for the rest of the field was undoubtedly the GT International (NC5) heat. Ray drove a superb race, managing to do what no one else could: relegate Paulo to second place.
  • Ray finished with 102.95 laps and the fastest lap of that heat (6.615s).

  • Ray also showed great form in the Fuel heat (Heat 5 of 5), taking the win with a score of 34.000.
Technical Highlights
  • The Speed Kings: The Lamborghini Huracáns proved to be the fastest cars on the track, with almost every driver dipping into the mid-6-second range.

  • Consistency Award: Ian and Johnno were frequently locked in battle for the podium spots, with Ian showing particular strength in the Revoslot and LMP classes.

  • Hard Luck: Deeks put in some very competitive lap times (notably a 6.918s in Group 5), often finishing just a few laps shy of the leaders.

Undara Circuit Race Report: Winter Warm-up
Wednesday 8th July, 2026

A biting cold winter's day couldn't keep the hardcore enthusiasts away from Undara Circuit, even if the freezing weather meant several regular racers were down and out for the session. With a lean grid of just three committed drivers; Paul, Ray, and Johnno, the stage was set for an intense, fast-paced marathon across seven different classes.

Fewer cars on the track meant clear lanes, fewer pile-ups, and blisteringly fast lap times as the trio pushed their machines to the absolute limit. Here is how the action unfolded across a marathon race day.

1. Trans-Am
The day opened with the classic Trans-Am class, where drivers had to fight cold track conditions to find grip. Paul adjusted quickest, putting on a clinic to take the top spot with 87.24 laps and the class-best lap of 7.507 seconds. Ray locked down second place with a steady 83.19 laps, comfortably clear of Johnno who brought up the rear with 79.43 laps despite maintaining a highly respectable 9.018-second average.

2. GT International
The pace amplified significantly in the GT International round, delivering the closest podium finish of the entire day. Paulo narrowly snatched the win with 91.54 laps, but Ray pushed him all the way to the buzzer, finishing a hair behind with 90.99 laps. While Johnno had to settle for third with 87.44 laps, he secured ultimate bragging rights by dropping a phenomenal 6.664-second rocket lap, the fastest single lap of the heat.

3. Sideways Group 5
In the Group 5 monster machinery class, Paulo dominated the field, agonizingly close to the century mark with 98.40 laps and a rapid best lap of 6.544 seconds. Ray kept up a fierce rhythm to capture second place with 95.66 laps. Johnno suffered a few minor deslots that hampered his total count (87.66 laps), though his raw pace remained evident with a solid 6.940-second flyer.

4. Slot.it Group C
The legendary Group C prototypes were the first to cross the 100-lap barrier. Paulo put on a masterclass of consistency, piloting his prototype to exactly 100.53 laps while clocking a best lap of 6.544 seconds. Johnno found his groove to decisively take second place away from Ray, banking 93.37 laps. Ray struggled to match his earlier consistency, finishing third with 82.11 laps.

5. Revo
The spec Revo class leveled the playing field, making out-and-out driving accuracy the deciding factor. Paulo took another close victory with 90.27 laps, but he couldn't shake off the chasing pack. Ray bounced back beautifully from the previous round to secure second with 88.19 laps, finishing just a fraction ahead of a hard-charging Johnno at 87.88 laps.

6. Slot.it LMP
Modern Le Mans Prototypes brought high downforce and lightning speeds to the Undara layout. Paulo asserted his dominance once again, storming to 95.34 laps with a 7.441-second average pace. The real drama was the bumper-to-bumper scrap for second place; Johnno managed to hold onto the runner-up spot with 91.82 laps, keeping a resilient Ray behind by a mere half-lap margin (91.33 laps).

7. Slot.it Can-Am
The brutal, high-horsepower Can-Am cars always test a driver's nerve, and the cold air made handling these beasts an absolute handful. Paulo took the win with 78.31 laps, setting an incredible class benchmark of 6.122 seconds. Johnno navigated the slides skillfully to comfortably secure second with 71.34 laps, while Ray kept his nose clean to round out the podium with 68.44 laps.

8. Sideways Lamborghini Huracán GT3
Saving the most intense endurance challenge for last, the Huracán GT3 class saw lap counts skyrocket as the drivers pushed through the fatigue. Paulo completed an unprecedented clean sweep of the day's classes, taking the final win with a massive 134.31 laps. However, Johnno pressured him the entire way, finishing second with 130.87 laps and setting the fastest lap of the heat at a blazing 6.223 seconds. Ray was right in the thick of the action too, finishing less than half a lap behind Johnno with a fantastic 130.34 laps.

Race Verdict: Massive congratulations to Paul for an incredible clean sweep across all eight classes! Hats off to Johnno for snagging the fastest outright lap honors in both GT International and the Huracáns.

While the winter chill kept the grid small, the small-group format gave everyone tons of track time and resulted in some of the highest quality, closest racing we've seen all season. Thanks to the boys for braving the cold!
