This week see's our group return to Old Bar Raceway, I've remembered this week to note the Lap Record Holder for each race, I did think to do this several weeks ago, but forgot to actually note these down :) let's get into the racing report for this week.

We were without Paul this meet, having Paul racing in the group gives Charlie a competitor in his field of experience, though all other racers in the group have all been gaining podium positions, even against Charlie and Paul.

This week again we had quite a few racers 'doing a Lindsay' manoeuvre LOL, I am seeing a a pattern appearing with the group and this 'Lindsay manoeuvre' and my own 'Coming through'

Joe started this week being not as aggressive as the past few meets, then when he came to his Revoslot race, aggressive racing Joe appeared, like myself, he is going great than he pushes that bit too hard and deslots. 

The Leaderboards and Podiums were again obtained by a mix of all racers with Charlie, Johnno, Joe and Jeffery across all events, congratulations to everyone on your Leaderboard, Podium wins and great racing.

As is natural for myself, I performed a couple of 'coming through' deslots, lifting one car on top of my Revoslot LMP and carrying the other car on my roof for a bit, Joe again got in on the action driving on trying to barge his way through the deslotted cars.

This week I replaced my yellow Trans-Am with a new Camaro, it performed better, reason for replacing this car came about because the previous yellow Trans-Am body mount screws were pulling completely through causing two issues, not enough body roll or too much body roll, spare parts it becomes :) I also swapped about my Revoslot Toyota LMP for my Revoslot Marcos LM600 Kingston #70, this car has been sent to the sin bin for six weeks due to it's poor performance, this week it actually behaved when given the chance :)

This week we return to Old Bar Raceway, where the racing was pretty close in all classes, around the 1.5 laps between racers... 

We introduce a new class and discuss the usually touchy topic of car regulations...!!! The car regulations have come around due to over several months randomly car regulations and loud discussions prevailed, such as gearing issue last month, the month before was about anglewinder, sidewinder and inline motors.

Well what a day of racing, myself was just off the pace, being distracted with chronic pain from spinal degeneration doesn't make things easier, as I say what doesn't hurt me or kill me only makes me grumpier , we had a full turn out today which was great, though Jeffery was a few hours late. 

This week Johnno performed the best 'doing a Lindsay' manoeuvre, was very subtle touch on Charlie , we also saw quite an increase in 'Johnno's Coming through' along with quite a few cars sitting on top of other cars as well.

This week we had a substantial amount of cars deslotting into the other lane, more than usual, even coming down the straight for some reason cars were deslotting into the other lane, don't know why this happened this week.

Aggressive Joe made a late appearance then kind of disappeared even during the Revoslot race. Joe has been doing real great the past few months and like Johnno, he is going great than he pushes that bit too hard and deslots, then gets angry and blows it more, usually at least another three deslots in a row. The biggest issue, besides deslotting, is racers having the controller trigger at full blast and when their cars are reslotted they take off and deslot once again, for novices, don't hold the trigger full while your car is being reslotted.

The Leaderboards and Podiums were again obtained by a mix of four racers, with Johnno, coming fourth in quite a few events, congratulations to everyone on your Leaderboard and Podium wins and great racing.

As is natural for myself, I performed a couple of 'coming through' deslots, lifting one car on top of my Revoslot LMP and carrying the other car on my roof for a bit, Paul got in on the action this week more than usual, driving on trying to barge his way through the deslotted cars, with success. We also saw quite a few 'gentleman racer' moves where one racer slowed up so not to ram at full speed into a deslotted car.

Johnno took the advantage to run his backup Ninco Porsche Cup car and OMG it was bloody noisier than all of Paul's cars combined, I had suspected it was the pinion being loose on the motor shaft and also having some real bad manufacturing faults with the teeth on the pinion, not having a spare nor knowing if I could use a normal pinion with the angle crown, I didn't replace it until I ran it, when aske di mentioned the pinion being loose on the shaft and bad teeth, Paul and Charlie to the rescue with triage and Charlie providing a second hand angle pinion, thanks guys for the triage and part.

Johnno's Trans-Am Camaro still played games this week, wanting to just run ahead instead of taking the corners... slow or fast they both just didn't want' to play 

This week saw Johnno again getting his Revoslot Dodge Viper and Marcus cars out and boy didn't they go good and the Toyota GT1 also misbehaved, also let down by the nut behind the controller. We saw Paul taking quite a few lap records as well in his heats, this week for some reason saw Paul having a lot more deslots than is usual for him, he even had one of his cars break the guide post.

The new Can-Am race saw new lap records set by quite a few people with Lindsay taking quite a few in a row.

Back at Old Bar Raceway, Old Bar this week saw an interesting afternoon of very close racing by everyone, I am still earning RC's Windows features' so more data, clearer, gap times etc will start appearing if I can remember to do them... into the write up I go with the Racing Results for this week, 28th July, 2021.

Race Report
This week we were two racers down, Jeffery and Lindsay, and yes those 'Doing a Lindsay' manoeuvres' continued this week successfully along with some very close ones all afternoon LOL

Johnno performed a couple of my 'coming through' deslots along with Johnno's Turtling' that were present again. 

For some reason once again we saw a significant amount of cars deslot and then reslot themselves again within the same lane as well as deslotting and reslotting in opposite lanes, usually head-ons follow, thankfully all were on their games and stopping or slowing enough to get fixed, just 

Something I noticed this week is quite a few cars amongst the group now have one car at least with terrible differential and gearbox sounds emanating from them, Paul's being the worse, we need noise cancelling earmuffs... at least we know when Paul has deslotted with instant peace and quiet. 



Chaos Report
Chaos for this week was fairly minor, we got wings here, we got mirrors or two there, we even got gearbox and differential parts everywhere from deslots that sounded terrible, as is usual the collateral damaged items added up for a few people.

Not too much chaos this week.

Race Report
I've recently met, via Messenger at least, another slotter in the area and can't wait to meet in person and under go Group Vetting. 

Unfortunately existing COVID 'Stay at home' guidelines, though eased, still has a five visitor rule to our homes, so these guys are delayed again in being introduced to the group, sorry guys :( To all three interested in joining our group I have told them my track, cars and home are open to them anytime and they need to over look the bit of mess, oi'up there!!! LOL, I'm not doing too bad for a 'Domesticated Mere Male' 

I've been looking forward to returning to Old Bar Raceway, it might be a small two lane track but the technical side is there. I had my fair share of car problems starting with testing, the track was like a complete sheet of black ice, zero grip for every car including he Revo's, from there my day just continued being crap!!

I'm tinkering with the settings in RC, I'd like to start the racing and not touch the computer again, until the end of day, to get this automation happening just needs some small tweaks same as Charlie is doing.

Several track tweaks were made by Charlie: 

• the second monitor was moved over to the track sideboard bringing it closer for us oldies to read   great mod. Charlie, 
  
• tweaked RC timings to pre-race start to 90 seconds, I saw a significant relaxing to all, 
  
• moved the tyre cleaning boards off the track to a bench away from the track, this had to be done as racers just weren't paying attention to the track, I started saying 'Board on track' to alert everyone, still failed LOL so now Shenanigans Raceway will be the same setup, 
  
• the first use of the newly installed Track Call Button, this is another issue that needs to be trained up on, 
  

Stickers once again came up, either just missing??!?? or stuck to someone's clothing, dropped to the floor, stuck on someone's car. 

This week saw various racers taking out the podiums, which is fantastic, the Most Outstanding was Joe, he made himself several podiums, just proves that a decent controller really does make improved results. Jeffery and his cars are still the most consistent of all us rookies. Again, Jeffery ran his own races and was great to watch, I tried encouraging him along when I could, he just needs to have a little more faith in himself and his cars. 

Johnno's day really started pear shaped from the first lap in the Ninco 1 race which embarrassingly takes out the 'Most Deslots in a Race' trophy, 14 deslots... (thanks Joe for counting LOL) OMFG... and it went on like that for myself.

As the day went on we again saw some 'Doing a Lindsay' move by a few of us, though Lindsay's and myself had the last race, a 'Slot.it that you haven't raced today' so out came my Slot.it Maserati, this thing is like the Batman car, lllooooooooonnnnnggg and perfect for the Lindsay move on Lindsay himself after he deslotted me with his drifting tale end, so I there fore decided after being down 3 or more laps, I started slowing up waiting for Lindsay to get in my reach, took me three or four goes, just missing the timing by fractions of a second, my determination to knock him out with his own move finally worked, on the last lap of the last heat, I got my advantage and great timing, Lindsay came up on my right going into the first corner going left, I applied 100% throttle for a split second to make my Maserati to swing it's end out and BAM... got him ROFL... everyone had a decent LOL for that, mind you I had some great urging on by Paul LOL, he immediately saw what I was up to.. great race Lindsay.

Something very strange this week with the car handling and placings, previously place getters now all of a sudden not even getting a look in, it can't just be track surface and temperature.

The Leaderboards and Podiums were again obtained by a mix of racers across all events. Congratulations to everyone on your Leaderboard, Podium wins and great racing.

As is natural for myself, I performed a couple of 'coming through' deslots, even Joe got in on the action driving on trying to clear his way through a deslotted car, he tried but no go. This week still see's myself having trouble with my Ninco cars, onto the next issue to fix, the body mounting screws.


Weather Report
Sunny with a chill to the air, no doubt racing today in this weather will be deplorable and it was at that, several lap records were still performed.


Chaos Report Headlines
Myself, an absolute shocker deslot wise, dropped one screw on the track, took out one mirror on the Maserati and a bit of plastic of unknown origins...

Once again Paul and I had a full power head on, when my Slot.it LMP deslotted and landed in Paul's slot perfect timing prevailed and a loud Slot.it LMP smack was heard, no damage to either car. Paul's Revoslot, from last weeks racing where the rear suffered substantial damage was still on the repair bench, ouch!!!
