I must say, this place isn't terribly busy, out of laziness, rather than start a new thread, I'll carry on with this one.
This is "Little and Large" part 2-1. Bordeaux is fast approaching (I think Anthony will bless us with his presence this year)
The theme for 2025 is F1 to 1972 (booooo!)
In 1/24th I will be using a car I built a couple years ago, a Brabham BT34 the base by Estrela of Brasil, it was missing a few bits and I added a couple of details, the twin engine intake was a must have.

It goes reasonably well

And part 2-2 for the 1/32nd car. A Matra MS9 built based on the Airfix MS10.
The actual body modifications are fairly simple, so I added a bit of detail, there a few more to go as well as the decals.

Because I wanted to retain the steering, I had to change the guide which proved a bit tricky

Motor is by Atlas.

My 'scratch building' as far as bodyshells go has so far been limited to wheelarches but I love seeing other peoples work, especially bodyshells.

Chassis are easy, they're flat and have straight cutouts.

Wheel inserts can be made with old wheels and a dremel if you don't have a 3D printer.

Then there's the decorating, another skill I'm lacking.  Making a model look remarkably similar to a 1:1 'real' car must be a labour of love.

For some of us, it seems that how it goes on the track is secondary.

How it goes on track is reasonably important considering the car was built for an actual race meeting.
I know some people will disagree, but surely the looks of a car are no barrier to good performance are they?

To spare you the horror of Frank the W..., I will try and post all the cars I built for the Bordeaux meeting over the years.
