I don't normally post on here, but since Christmas I had a bit of a run on home build cars, for various competitions.
This Ferrari 488 (2018) Le Mans car would have been my USA GT3 Proxy entry, but I just did not get to test it properly before the closure date of the proxy.
It was built from a Racer white kit, I have run it in the "Great North Slot Car Race" at the East Lancs Slot club, where it ended around 9th out of 18 runners after a tough battle with Makem. And definitely needs further development, but it could well be an entry for next years GT3 proxy.
And I am very pleased with the paint and decoration job.
This Fantasy "Sunoco" livery Datsun 510 I have built for this years Under 2.0 Litre Trans Am Proxy competition in America. It was a Slot it white kit, which I decorated with the paints left over from other earlier builds. So the "Sunoco" theme just evolved from the paints I had available. It will be posted to the US tomorrow.
The Brabham BT52 was made for last weekends National Policar Classic F1 Round at Rockingham. And started off as a proposal to make it as a 3d print to John May of JS Design. Fortunately he loved the idea and made the printed body for me just before Christmas. I decorated it the best I could in a rather cold spell of weather in the last few weeks. Fitted with a Policar motor & chassis last Saturday was its first actual test run on the club track, which was fortunate as there was some serious front end deslotting issues. So Saturday night there was some further hurried modifications to the front end to prepare it for the race on Sunday. Out of 7 runners in the 1980's F1 class it did end up last, but by less than a lap, so I was very pleased with this initial try out. With a couple of further improvements I hope to run it again at the Slot Festival Policar Round in April. As far as I know it is the 1st time the Brabham BT52 has been reproduced as a 1/32nd slot car (although there has been a few 1/43rd models produced), and raced in a National Competition (at least in the UK).

Hi Leo,
is that a Morris 1100?
I've hopefully got a 3D print coming in the future of a Morris 1100.
It was my first car as a young 15 year old in NZ, I'm looking forward to making that up.
Where did you get the body from for that one?
Cheers
Tony

I think it's probably an Austin Maxi, and I suspect I have the same resin body from Pendles. I've even painted it the same colour, though mine will be a static, spectator car.

This 1960 Ford panel van has been kicking me for some time now. I liked the original 3D model but have found converting it to a nice printable body to be somewhat challenging. Still more to do for the 3D model to make it polished and add some details back. But happy enough for now to get an actual print off it and hopefully getting it to run on the track soon.
