I have just finished my restoration job on the Harlequin Hillclimb & Rally track which got damaged last winter, which hopefully will be functioning well for this proxy next year.
This time I haver replaced all the old track with the new style SCX track and what a difference it has made. Far superior to the old Scalex Sport & SCX classic track I used previously, with everything locking into place really well. Additionally I fitted the special HC SCX loops at the ends of the tracks, one as the start point for the trial track.
As well as a Rally GT40 which I have recently built, I also ran a Alfa Romeo 6C 2500SS 1950's Coupe which I used last year in a National vintage car event, and although it has a long well base it still ran very well around the track and surprisingly well around the very tight hairpins and end loops

Yes it is the same model type, since we are running the early Sedan type cars in the proxy I wanted to see if there was an issue with running them around 90o bends etc, so I used this of the shelf car to test it out. The wheels are quite large diameter and the tyre width is very narrow to meet the CSCRA rules of last years competition. So I was quite amazed that without any modifications it ran so well on my Rally track.

Mine bottomed out on the bridge climb on our track but that's because the hump was quite pronounced and has been smoothed since with no cars struggling any longer...I haven't driven this car on it since...it hasn't got wheels at the moment

For the CSCRA regulations there has to be 2mm track clearance for these early cars, so that was not an issue over the hump back bridge for this car on my track, you just had to give the car a reasonable amount of momentum around the sharp bends and loops because of the wheelbase.
