A Purple Ferrari
#1

A friend asked me to make a purple Ferrari for him, for an IROC series in our club. It was already molded in this colour. It made things simple.

The 312P is my favorite.  Low and sleek and wider than the P4.

And it looks ok in purple.
I actually have a couple purple Ferraris.....one repainted Ninco F50 and one 3DP 212 Export.

Not as pretty as the 312P.

I humbly thank you Anthony and Chappy.

These Ferrari's are great slot car platforms because they are so wide.

No problem, Anthony. It's a beautiful car. I have mentioned a few times to my racing buddies that I don't want to buy anymore 1/32 cars. However, if I see a Ninco Jag XK120 at a reasonable price... MINE!  Thumbup

Show us your purple cars! Please keep going. I'll run out of purple cars pretty quick.

This was a white Mini before it turned purple to mimic a Targa Florio livery. Flairs were also added.

A long time ago I was on vacation and passed by a hobby store (now defunct). The nice gentleman pulled out a wrecked Pioneer Assassin's Charger body that a child had spray-bombed silver. There were about 30-self adhesive stickers underneath the paint. It was a $5 special. I was bored, so I took a chance on throwing away five dollars.

It spent about 3-days soaking in degreaser to remove the silver paint. Then I spent the next several hours removing the stickers. What a pain.

Now I had an all black body with no more RT stripes or anything. I was painting the Mini at the same time so the rest of the can went on the Charger.

I still need to complete the car. Some cars go on the back bench for a long time.

I had to dig them all out:

NSR Abarth, Ninco F50, Nissan R380LT, NSR 908-3, and HonkerII.

Plus a couple others:

Ferrari 212 (homage to the Ninco), Ferrari TR500, and a car for the WWSCC printed proxy that never really got off the ground (at least not yet).
