With the GT Sports Car Slotting Proxy to get ready for Saturday, I haven't had time to get the videos ready yet (they're still uploading with the proxy videos).

On Thursday we raced Group 5's then NSR Mosler 'Club Challenge' #2.
.

Geoff's BMW has been uncatchable for a while now but Kev made him sweat tonight...if it wasn't for a jump-start in his favourite Blue lane that run of success for Geoff would have ended...but it was close!
.
Brian's struggled to find where the performance went from his Capri...this was a car capable of lapping in the 6.2" bracket and he's tried all sorts to rediscover it...a bit disappointed tonight.
.
Mike's Mack chassied Capri is a flier!  Heat #4 racing alongside Geoff's BMW was a great race.

5 minute heats, identical cars and controllers, two racing, two marshalling...what could go wrong!
.
With Mike B the only one in the 2024 championship it was a big points haul for him tonight.
.
Meanwhile the other three of us were racing in the 'Unofficial non-Championship'.
Last time out Kev came from 4th spot to win in the last two laps of the night but tonight had an easier time without the problems of 'Club Challenge' #1 a few weeks ago.
.
Geoff was obviously confident after the Group 5 racing and was flying round the track...setting the best score in the Red lane of all the cars but two costly deslots in the Blue lane hurt his overall score.
.
Brian needed a good set of races with his Mosler after the let-down of his Gr.5 Capri earlier.
Red lane...let's not talk about that eh Brian...but Blue lane, now we're talking, setting third fastest lane score of all but ended his night with an unsettled run in Yellow lane before calming down to get a banker run in.

Race report - 21st March - Saloon plus Sports

Back to Basics, Standard, Modified and Open Class cars were raced tonight between the six of us.
.
Opel Calibras were the car of choice in Standard/B2B Class, one Ninco raced by Ed which goes quite nicely plus a pair of SlotIt's.
.
Mike B raced what's quickly become a favourite of his, Jaguar XJ12C...and it's very competitive!
...plus Chris's Honda Civic which gets raced on all our tracks...another favourite
.
Meanwhile Andy raced a Mack chassied Spirit Peugeot 406...because his other was 'too quick!'
.
The real racing happens when there's a mix of classes on the track and there were some great races tonight and overall results affected by one (or more    ) too many deslots (no surprises here then   )

Sports

   

Andy raced a Standard Class car tonight...he did honest...and it's a flier!...Thunderslot McLaren Elva...we'll definitely be seeing more Thunderslots in the near future as the performance was a huge eye opener for Andy and the rest of us.
.
Only one Mosler...that can't be...yes, only one and Brian nearly changed his mind about racing that and finished the closest to Andy in Standard Class.
.
Ed raced his trusty SlotIt Jaguar XJR9 whilst Chris initially raced his favourite (and ours) Dome Judd  but failed to finish it's first race, which was stopped whilst he swapped cars for a Revoslot Supra which goes well enough but deslot-prone (as they are).
.
Kev raced an SCX Audi R8 which he thought had a Ninco motor in as a 'B2B' car but discovered he'd fitted a NSR King 25 when he wasn't looking so that went in Modified Class but is quick for an SCX.
.
Mike B raced a blast from the past, a resin UOP Shadow DN4 on a Eurosport chassis...it's far too quick and he had to baby it to stay on the track.

Race results - 28th March 2024 - Club GT40 plus Grand Prix & Prewing F1

Club GT40
This is the first time we've raced the Club GT40's on this new track surface and lap times were down with lap counts going up.
.
No close racing which is unusual for the same set of cars and controllers apart from the last heat when Chris & Gav finished just over 2 seconds apart with Gav setting a devil of a hot lap 6.666 seconds
.
Chris couldn't stay for the second class of racing due to work commitments.

Grand Prix & Prewing F1
4 cars...4 different classes
.
A pair of Cartrix Lancia's, one very standard one very modified...Ed's very standard one getting the upper hand due to staying on the track more but on single lap pace couldn't catch Gav's D50.  Gav's overpowered D50 will be much easier to race next time with a calmer motor.
.
Kev's little Merc W165 managed to get round under just 7 seconds a few times, heavy and steady.
.
Andy's Ferrari 156 flew round as quick as usual, 6.4 second laps made it untouchable.

Next week is 50's & 60's Monsters & Minis.
The Monsters don't have to be American, they just have to be BIG (NO SPORTS CARS)
...whilst the Mini's don't have to be British, they just have to be small (NO SPORTS CARS)

Race report - Monsters & Minis

A lot of absentee club members tonight so we 'made it work' - no marshalls, all three of us racing and shouting 'TRACK' when a car deslotted so that we stopped racing.
.
The heats were organised so we raced Minis, Monsters, Minis, Monsters, Minis, Monsters...it worked well and we enjoyed the racing.

   
.
Gav said he learned something tonight - set the cars up to drive nicely first and foremost, ignoring how fast it is, as long as it's going round the track it's counting laps...basic basics to some but not blindingly obvious to others.
