Building another Cobra for the GT Raceways Pre 67 meeting, and after seeing Chappyman’s Aston Martin DBR1 I found the STL file on 3dexport which was in a 50% off sale so less then £3. Whilst pursuing the sale I found the Iso Grifo Bizzarrini for £7 and downloaded that as well. The intention is to build up all 3 for the Pre 67 meeting and pick a favourite.

The Aston file is a wafer thin mint at 0.8mm wall thickness so the 1st shell printed only weighs @9grms and dubious about racing this one without adding some internal ribs around the arches and increasing the thickness of the shell at the rear in case of shunts. I have also removed the headlamps covers, towing hooks, part of the inner arch plus re profiling under the nose cone to take the guide sweep.

I have a light weight (2grms) shallow tray driver figure for the DBR by modifying the one I designed for the Cobra. Will print off some clear headlamps (like the Cobra ones) to fill the holes and add an inline chassis similar to the Cobra one.

Not started the Bizzarrini yet but did note the download includes the wheels (with tyres) so I can strip out the tyres and create inserts...

Cheers
John
