I remember seeing that H16 engine at Caistor back in the early 1970's. I didn't realise it was from Jimmy's Lotus 43 though.

Always nice to see some more Lotus cars!
I do not have very many of them, so I try to compensate with loads of photos!
They are all my own wood carvings in 1/32 scale.

   
   
   

I wish I could make brass chassis like Chris (who doesn't?), but I can't, so I stick to lolly sticks...

   
   
   

As I am an old scale nerd, I have tried strictly to keep to scale, including height. Not many (any?) of the produced 1/32 Lotus sports cars are. This makes some of my cars extremely low and small.
   

   
   
The white, fantasy-liveried 23, is still missing some details, but will be sorted one fine day!

Then came the foray into the turbine cars - first the lotus 56 and then 56B Raced by Fittipaaldi in the black and gold colours.

This version, however, raced at Indianapolis in 68:

       

This is a 1/24th IMC Kit converted to slot cars:


           

And a 1/32nd scale \betta/Classic version built by Phil Smith and racedd by my son in Bordo to a second placed finish!!

   

Then came Lotus abortive attempt at 4wd - the Lotus 63. This was tried in 69 but was uncompetative and was not raced in ernest. A sad addendum was tthat this care was  crashed in the FOS a few years ago and the driver and a marshall were killed sadly.

   

This a Betta/classic brilliantly built by a friend - outstanding quality.
