Ermmm - Is the dremel the issue????  

I have 3 - 2 electric and 1 battery all still work, and the electrics are 23+years ol. I did have one die on me but that was the battery ;)

Like your work on the cars - how are you doing the screens??

Nah!!

I've had a proper Chinese replacement for some time and it works fine and includes more tools that I am ever likely to use plus all my old Dremel cutters fit as well. 

I've already thinned the resin down around the open areas and will just use contact cement to stick thin clear plastic in. It's worked OK for the wooden ones so hopefully will be OK here too. Shouldn't look too far out as the resin can be thinned far more than the balsa and I reckon that looked OK.

I 3D resin print bodyshells now and again with the intention of turning them into slot cars.  

Unfortunately this doesn't often happen as other 'projects' elbow in so my resin prints are slowly increasing.

One such 3D Auto Union D-type bodyshell sits next to my pc keyboard and it dawned on me the other day I actually like just having them around, I think I've started 'collecting' them without realising...is this even a thing? well quite possibly yes.

Help.

Resin body experts. I've scrubbed the bodies with soap and water, rubbed down with wet and dry and still there are areas that refuse to accept paint. What do I use to get rid of what I assume is release agent? I've used car paint this time. Cheapo supermarket paint worked OK though. Don't want to have to strip it all off.

Did you cast them, Gordon?
Did you use release agent?

After a good scrub and chemical clean if  areas not taking paint still is a problem I think it is a resin issue not a release agent issue.
One part of one type of resin I use starts to crystallize after some time and I think if this is used on making bodies I think parts remain unmixed and cause this issue.....No empiracal testing sorry, just a gut feeling.

Solution is to.....find a paint that works or....there's the bin over there.

No, I didn't do them, I just sent the formers to a guy in the UK (you are a l o n g way away ) so I had no control over the mix.

I do have the moulds so if I have to, I can get some resin.

The first pair in red were fine using some cheap supermarket paint so I'll try some of that in white first. I thought using some cellulose would give a better finish!

Gordon - I have in the past found that when this happens - spray from a distance an give a verrrrrry fine mist of primer - repeat several times. I have found this works on difficult bodies.

Hope this sorts it out.

Oh by the way - see I was right - Red is best!!!! Bwahahaha

Two will be white....if I can get the paint on!

Anyway, the first is about as far as I'm going to take it. Decals arrived from Colin so it's done I reckon.
