Oh dear, here we go again. The number plates on Hannu Mikkola's starting number 12 Escort MK1 are incorrect, if it should be Hannu's car. Banghead
PVX 399K would be correct.

PVX 398K is the number 16 car of Timo Mäkinen who finished the 1971 RAC Rally in fifth place, one place behind his teammates HannuMikkola/ Gunnar Palm.

After some closer examination, but it is very difficult to see, it looks like that Timo Mäkinen's name is written on the front fender.
His navigator was Henry Liddon.
In that case, only the starting number needs to be changed from twelve to sixteen.

Andy, is it possible to correct this before production starts?

The MGB needs a Triumph Spitfire MkIV/1500 friend.... and a Porsche 924 street car (could be a police car) would be grand.. :-)

Hub - I've passed on your comments about the RAC Escort. I took a look at the 360-degree amimation on the Scalextric website and it's definitely the Liddon/Mäkinen car with the wrong race number.

I also took a look at the 2023 Aifix new releases...

This looks a great addition to some 1:35 scale Goodwood Revival themed scenery - or even the basis for a conversion?

There's also a £10 Bond Bug resissue in 1:32 scale - and a 1950s-'70s Ferret armoured car in 1:35 scale, but not really in keeping with the Goodwood Revival WW2 military hardware era.

Many thanks. Thumbup

Sorry, but there is one small issue left: It is "Henry Liddon", not "Henri Liddon" as shown on the car.

Hi Andy,

Excellent full coverage report as usual,  thank you  Thumbup
So nice to get the chassis/motor configuration information for those of us who actively race our Scalextric cars, much appreciated.

Great selection of models I think.  Some really nice new cars, particularly the Mk1 Jaguar,  about time really!
The Series 1 Land Rover looks good, but without a drop arm it won't be much cop on any raid style layout, but an inspired choice anyway.   Some great looking reliveries, particularly the Snake eyes Cobra of Bobby Verdon-Roe.

The Dragon Snake Cobra of Mike Whitaker, #822, should be different to the other planned Cobras, as it runs to a Pre1963 specification,  not Pre 1966 ( narrower wheels and tyres, inside less flared wheel arches) being the most notable difference.   Interesting to see if that happens.  Either way, just a fabulous looking  car.  Can't wait for its release.   The actual colour scheme is an incredible metal flake style paint finish, good luck getting that spot on Hornby Scalextric!

Thunderbirds FAB 1 has got to be a huge seller, it is just so different,  and an incredible looking thing.  Should drift nicely around my Routed Raceway,  at speed.  Shelf Queen, no way  Rofl  I did notice that according to the Hornby Scalextric website it isn't actually due for release until Spring 2024?   Not really a 2023 Catalogue release then to be honest.....

A big thumbs up from me, and I will be purchasing plenty of new releases this coming year.
Only real negative comment.....
I continue to be amazed at the number of errors that Hornby Scalextric make regarding drivers names, circuits and general information.
Take a look at their website,  go through the new releases,  and see how many you can find.  Every year the printed catalogue has numerous errors,  now the website is the same!  Perhaps it will be a competition,  spot all the errors and win the entire 2023 catalogue  Wrench
No ECTO 1 Ghostbusters Cadillac again,  oh well,, I can keep hoping.............

Thanks again for all the time and effort you put into covering the Scalextric range.

Sorry,  forgot to add the following....

Back last year I was disappointed that there were no reliveries of the Ford Capri.

Andy asked which colour scheme I would most like to see.  So I listed about 5.  2 of which are in the 2023 catalogue.
Both the Belga Gordon Spice and Gitanes Ric Wood cars are present and correct.

You clearly have a large amount of influence Andy, keep up the good work  Rofl

@Woodcote , In the Scalextric 2023 Formula 1 cars I noticed on Scalextric's website the Tech Specs show none of the cars have DPR. Is this a trend/director for Scalextric F1?
