Good Morning
I have decided to do the EIS proxy - Pitlane Review for the 1st two Classes.
General - I started at around 7pm and ran on until 10pm. It was the 1st time I have used the simulated track lighting which I initially had bought 4 units from the Slot Car Festival earlier this year, but only in the week after my holiday managed to get them set up. Having done so, I quickly decided that 4 is not sufficient, so ordered another 4. Two of those were made up and erected yesterday, but there is still a couple of places where a black cat would not be noticed
So I am putting together the other two kits today which should be in action tonight.
Modern 24HRS Endurance (Class A)
In general I think this went much as I might have expected from the practise runs. The only surprise for me was that the Mercedes CLK (RoadRunners) had appeared to close the gap on the BMW V12 (Savage GT) quite a lot. My impression had been from the Practise runs that the BMW V12 would be in a league of its own.
I loved the Astra V12 (BARacer) as it required a little more concentration then most of the other runners, and once or twice it went round a corner on two wheels, and once by luck it bounced off the barrier and straight back into the slot
The Porsche 962 (Lifeboat Racing) ran much better then on practise as a result of having it's rear tyres glued onto the wheel rims.
I have decided to post the
Test Runs or practise times (fastest laps) versus the actual Race Fastest Lap time for comparison.
The practise times were made exactly the same for each car (3 runs of 10 laps for each car) making maintenance adjustments of the braids, tyres etc as I went along
Classic Le Mans (Class B)
A great result for the Ferrari 250 GTO (Mountain View), I know it would be very competitive from the Test runs. The Porsche 904 (Brumos RSR) seemed a little lacking some of it's power in the actual race, perhaps something to worry about. The AC Cobra was superb to run and on form. I ran the Aston Martin DBR1 with the ailing chassis as it was. Sadly the performance is declining rapidly and afterwards I and a quick look inside.

As you can see the motor mount top is breaking apart again, the good news is that thanks to John at JS Design he has sent me a replacement chassis which arrived yesterday. So I am hoping to find time on Monday to replace the existing one as I don't think it will last another Round.
The Ferrari 250 GTO ( BARacer) and MGA (Green Star Racing) perhaps being disadvantaged by their thinner but compliant rear tyres, I will have to give serious thought to either penalising the non compliant runners or awarding some bonus points to the compliant cars regarding this class of cars.
And the Cunningham (Rokers Roar) was off track quite a lot of time, so I think this one will remain a hand full for the hosts to run.
So again I have posted the
Test Runs or practise times (fastest laps) versus the actual Race Fastest Lap time for comparison below.
So it is back now to gluing the other two Light gantry's together for tonight's fun.
See you later
