What cars have you built and latest bodies from 3DP

Can I make a suggestion GT40Racer, you're wasting a lot of resin with such a densely packed base, you can move them around in the slicer, try joining bases together so there's two or more supports coming from one support base.

Probably a dumb question but could you clarify 'densely packed base' please  do you mean the flat section under the car is too thick or there is too much of it?

I also think I have a lot thicker base than I have seen in other prints - but given I have had mostly success in printing (two failures due to a bad model I didn't check properly) I am cautious about changing too much :)

I will have a look at some videos on
Do you have any photos of your cars off the printer still with supports etc.  Lots of learning happening here. :)

thanks

I wish I'd seen this post a couple of hours ago, I printed a Minisprint last night and removed the supports earlier.  However, here's an Alfa 6C 2500 I printed a few weeks ago...

Thanks - looks like you don't have a raft just the base for the support.
I will experiment a bit with my settings and see how I go.

thanks

A raft is a huge waste of resin for something as small as a slot car body, you'll easily throw more resin away than it took to make the bodyshell.

I just finished a Ferrari Testarossa

the chassis is very simple, pod designed specially for slim motor because there is not much room in front .

Everything, except motor axles wires screws and braids,is home made, either 3d printed or vacformed
It was the best file i have printed so far, with the body removed

and the body with body posts added

Hi John,

Yes an interesting experiment. I've built two like this, one for a Mini and this Merc. It's a lot more work to get finished compared to a rigid chassis, to be honest there isn't any performance gain so I've gone back to the rigid chassis for future builds.

I'm currently working on a '65 Mustang for the Rally Slotting Proxy and that's got both types but the flexy pan chassis isn't going to be used as two centreline body posts and a floating bodyshell seems to handle better.
