Never, ever has there been the slightest inkling of any interest in there. After all, they don't go round corners properly at all do they?

Yeah that's a bit like when you post about something on FaceBook and people reply informing everyone that they "don't do FaceBook".

I post as it's making fun of Anthony. I always read his posts. Please don't make silly comments like this.

Methinks Kevan (and Leo) hit a raw nerve there
Trains are brilliant, just don't have room for them.

A couple of our club members are into their trains, I'm not but I love the engineering in them.
Slot cars aren't just about racing, it may have been in the past for me but that ruthless winning attitude has lost plenty of club members, not just our club but others around the globe, so for the last few years it's been the taking part and enjoying the hobby for me.
As trains aren't racing I can see why they interest people.

I love the engineering in them as well. There is something marvellous about watching all those bits and pieces of a steam engine working away. I reflect that a long time back someone dreamt up the idea for it and then designed it - made the components and then constructed it, simply wonderful.
I love my slot cars - I pulled down my train track to put in a slot car track but now I want to pull down my slot track (and build another one) to put in some train track.
Trains as a hobby are as varied as slot cars - for me I like driving and watching trains chug around a layout and I like make scenery to create a miniature world.
I just spend a few dollars on this engine. Its big 1:20.3 scale Shay Locomotive for those that don't have a scale reference I should post a photo next to a 1/32 car - this one is about 60cm long and weighs around 5kg
I don't have a garden track (or and indoor one at the moment either) but couldn't pass up this beauty

Michaels Poirtillo's Great Continental Railway Journeys was very interesting last night, he visited a cafe where your food/drinks were delivered to your table via model railway, all computer controlled...wonderful

I too used to have a model railway ,GWR , and really liked the detailing .
My problem was wiring live frog points so as not to get shorts ..The expense of the beautiful locos and rolling stock became to high for me ,so it all got sold to make way for slot cars ,I still have moments when I wish I still had it though .

Even my brother in law who was a top design engineer before he retired suffers from this affliction.
He builds them from scratch. Proper steam of course none of this electricky rubbish.
I will never, ever, understand the attraction.
