First attempt at slush casting
#11

Nice looking castings.  Thumbup

Racing narrow cars can be fun against each other. Just make another. You know the guy with the mold.  Sun

Hi Ken ,I have the mould ,was thinking of buying more resin and making. A few  more .Just need to get the process sorted so that the top end is not so thick.

53mm across the arches, even quite thick mould should leave 49-50 to outside of tyres at least.
That's not unreasonable, about where the Scalextric cars are, and as mentioned racing each other will make for a nice trio for your track  Thumbup
A bit of practice and you will soon get the hang of making them thinner I am sure. There is always the Dremel to help out  Wrench

Hi Fluff,

If you are happy to sell some of your resin castings I would definitely be interested in a casting of the Escort,  even more so the Starlet if they are 1:32 scale.

We spent years watching the National Hot Rod Toyota Starlets, first raced by the late 962 Ormond Christie from Northern Ireland.
They were the car to beat for years, running 2 litre Ford Pintos and running gear.

Great memories,  everyone had one, Barry Lee, George Pollley, even my dad's friend 308 Mark Tipping....

If you could let me know that would be great,

Thanks,
Pip

Hi Pip ,yes mate would definatly part with some ,give me a chance to get a better casting and then I'll contact you .I'm more of the George Polly era  but hot rods are a great form of racing

Sorry Pip ,you mentioned George ,he was racing Anglias when I used to go

Yeah, I remember the 306 Anglia, but only from books and videos  :sun:
George was Starlet mounted when we started going  racing loads,  1986 onwards.  Wimbledon on Sundays and Aldershot on Thursday evenings,  great fun.  Ipswich and Arlington (Eastbourne) sometimes as well.  Brilliant racing across all classes and tracks.

I used to buy racing stuff from George,  and his son Steven, when he took over the sales van.  Oil and Yokohama tyres mainly.

Would be great to have some National Hot Rods to paint up and build, so thank you very much for your kind offer.

Ex Spedeworth Banger #13,  Lightning Rod #313,  Rookie Rod #313 and PRI  Group A Hot Rod #113.
All great fun, apart from the Rookie Rod which I hated.  It was a Vauxhall Corsa, which I called the Vauxhall Kick it, because each time I walked past the bloody thing it got a good kick :tappingfoot:

Hi Pip ,I used to race bangers at Aldershot ,a Wolsey  ,think I spelt that right .!!!A couple of races and all week repairing it to race on Thursday again ,it was so rusty I could see the track through the floor  it was only the steelwork that held it together .
When I cast some good bodies I'll contact you , .

If you would like the first 2 I cast to muck about with until I can get a better job let me know
They will need a bit of work ,but yours if you want them .

Cool, thanks Steve Thumbup

Send me a PM and I'll sort you some money via PayPal if that works for you.

Didn't realise that you had raced too.   Aldershot was great, old and a bit tatty, but a proper Stock Car track, and only 25 minutes from home....

Thanks,

Pip
