This week we make a return to Undara Circuit after several weeks of no racing, I've been looking forward to returning to this track, it has a completely different track surface to the other three that are identical, that we race on, the surface is like a glass finish with spotted dots throughout, this surface has been quite difficult to tune the tyres for, I'd specifically spent some time on my Revo Marcus car tyres, well all cars and tyres. Into the write up I go with the Racing Results for this week.

We were one racer down, so Paul setup Undara Circuit to race on three of the four lanes, allowing two marshals and three racers, this week and a number of weeks going forward we will be without Jeffery, Jeffery really is the epitome of the Gentleman Racer. He really is the quiet racer.

Leaderboards and Podiums were again obtained by a mix of racers with Charlie, Paul, Johnno, Joe across all events, congratulations to everyone on your Leaderboard, Podium wins and great racing.

A few 'coming through' and 'Lindsay's' were carried out by everyone and chaos really was prevalent this week, I have been putting a lot more care into my racing so I don't deslot as much and ruin the racing for others and also to get in practice for the upcoming Enduro Event between Taree and Sydney, bit of info. here, Taree took out the first Enduro event Bigsmile

Into the write-up I go for Wed 30th June, 2021 is at Undara Circuit.

This week saw another COVID lockdown in NSW enacted, for our small group we are fortunate to have limited numbers that are under the visitor requirements in private homes and with only four in attendance meant we had to once again race on three out of four lanes with one marshal, surprisingly we got through all our classes unusually faster than normal for some reason, even racing 4 minute heats, we smashed through the classes, this meant we actually had time to enjoy our coffee and tea. We did start a little earlier.

This week our MIA guys were Jeffery and Joe. Even with the four racers in attendance some very close racing was had by all with many tail end swipes at other cars on the track. Three corners predominantly retained the most deslots, on entry to the overpass, the left hand turn coming out from under the over pass and the right hand hairpin coming onto the main straight back to the start/finish line.

The banter was there to some smaller degree this week, quite a few of the deslots were caused with a grin on the face of the culprit, like it wasn't me, I saw you do it LOL.

No surprise with the leaderboards and podiums today with two top racers (Charlie and Paul), one intermediate racer (Lindsay) and one rookie racer (Johnno). Johnno managed to grab one podium placing.

With Paul back the rookies once again have fallen away from podium placings Wrench

however this also gave Charlie some competition as Paul and Charlie are both near the same level of competitive racing which is a good thing in slot cars as everyone needs a competitor.

This week we see the inaugural Can-Am class at Undara Circuit so new lap times and driver best times were added and replaced. Thanks Joe for letting Johnno run his Can-Am while waiting for mine to arrive.

All Leaderboards and Podiums were held by Charlie, Lindsay and Paul for majority of all events with Johnno taking the wooden spoon in every event bar one. Johnno had an absolutely atrocious day from the very first event, for some reason I was having chronic braking issues with all my cars, as the events proceeded to the faster classes this only increased. Got to the point that I was completely frustrated and nearing the edge of getting the shits, I have been trying to improve at every race meet so not to interrupt other's racing and well, frankly, just keep the car in the slot.

Johnno had his controller settings adjusted to the most dire of settings to reduce and stop the deslotting, having turned the sensitivity and acceleration fully off and the brakes turned fully on 100% yet the cars still refused to pull up, having to adjust braking four feet from the corners just to slow up enough to make it around the corner, usually the braking point is within the one foot range from the corner... tell you what, concentrating on the car that simply has zero brakes and try to keep in the race required serious concentration all the while dealing with controlling the self anger... got home, showered, swapped emails with Steve regarding the controller behaviour on and off up-to 0100hrs (1am) did some odds and ends and was in bed by 2040hrs... brain and eyes just hurt from the concentration, back up and into the new day at 0323hrs (3am) packed the controller in a box ready to post to the Australian warranty and repairer.

Thanks Paul for loaning me a Slot.it SCP1 controller which proved that there was something amiss as immediately braking returned to my cars, still racing with an unknown controller wasn't easy so I just took the days racing as practice on Paul's track.

we then repeat depending on racer availability for racers and marshals.

Race Report
Racing Results for 4th August, 2021 sees the group return to Undara Circuit at Forster. An interesting afternoon of close racing across the classes and heats by all racer's today.

The banter, distractions, laughter, self-frustrations, chaos all present, bar Jeffery who again was unable to attend today's meet and all the fun and action.

Since we were missing Jeffery we thought it would be three lanes and two marshals however Paul had other thoughts, he had decided to race four lanes with one marshal and the track call button, the track call button works well when used actively, correctly and appropriately.

I performed a couple of my 'coming through' deslots along with Johnno's Turtling' that were present again.

For some reason again we saw a significant amount of cars deslot and then reslot themselves again within the same lane as well as deslotting and reslotting in opposite lanes, usually head-ons follow, thankfully all were on their games and stopping or slowing enough to avoid making the section: Chaos Report Headlines (below).

On several restarts from a YF, all three cars resumed racing side by side, will chaos ensue or will they all play nice? It was great to see.

I've also observed an increase in how many cars amongst the group have terrible differential and gearbox noises emanating from them, I'd have to say Paul would hold Poll Position for this Class, being the worse, we need noise cancelling headphones... at least we know when Paul has deslotted with instant tranquillity LOL.

Lindsay for some reason (to me) seems to doubt himself, his talents and his cars at times when there is no need for this, his cars are tuned nicely, they handle great, when Lindsay loaned me his car the warning was issued at the racers stations!!! Don't you go and beat me with my own car Johnno! LOL.

When we look at the podiums, Lindsay is there quite often along with some great times, another great racer amongst our group.

Sidenote: I've found Lindsay's nickname, I hereby decree Lindsay will now be known as 'Papa Smurf' yes, that is it, Lindsay is Papa Smurf Rofl

As for close racing, check out Event 7 LMP (Modern) it couldn't have been much in it at all between Johnno and Charlie, we needed the Race Window...

Chaos Report Headlines
Today could be the groups' worst day in quite some time, even Charlie and Paul were deslotting considerably.

We had a grub screw stuck in the lane, Joe came around the corner hit it and snapped his guide post, I don't think he was at all happy about that Angry

, then to top the day off, he dropped that miniscule thin guide spring Tappingfoot

, the poor bloke had a rough day.

As for myself, my day started ok then turtled on me. We arrived, tested cars etc as per normal, I did all mine and was reasonably happy, yes, finally might have found some grip, Charlie went through his usual car yard of choices, oh the decisions, this one? Yeah, nah, yeah!!

The Ninco 1 car played up then stopped... Paul loaned me one of his cars to finish the race with. Along comes race 2, the Ninco Porsche Cup, very similar occurrence as to the Ninco 1 Lamborghini, my Ninco Porsche started then stopped, you kidding me, oh well some triaging when I get home.

Update for my Ninco 1 Lamborghini, it is now, well currently, today Bigsmile

, working after a full triage was performed with nothing found until the motor spluttered and I caught a small spark at the motor tab where the wire is soldered, turned the light off and repeated and sure enough there it was again, more if I flexed the chassis, power on, power off.

When I flexed the chassis I could see a small crack in the soldered joint, desoldered motor and then desoldered the tabs, refluxed and resoldered with all new wires to the guide.

In the LMP, Charlie and myself had several rear-end high speed impacts, with Charlie's car sliding out around the corner, he braked hard ending with me hitting his rear at a decent speed him, both cars continued on without damage which surprised us both and made me 'pucker up' some as I don't go out there to race and damage other cars, there is nothing to gain from this attitude nor behaviour, cars and parts are now on the low end of expensive.

I am still learning RC's 'Windows features' so more data, clearer, gap times (there are two this week) etc will start appearing if I can remember to do them...

Race Report
This week see's us return to Undara Circuit after eight weeks of no racing due to COVID restrictions.

I've been looking forward to returning to Undara Circuit.

We were several racers down this week meaning we had to race on three of the four lanes leaving one marshal, thankfully with a small footprint the marshalling is much easier for one to handle.

We see our newest racer, Warren make his first appearance at Undara Circuit and was a good shakedown for his car prep.

The Leaderboards and Podiums were again obtained by a mix of racers across all events. Congratulations to everyone on your Leaderboard, Podium wins and great racing.

We had several 'Johnno's coming throughs' and more than usual with cars jumping slots.

Chaos Report Headlines
Thankfully there was very little chaos to report this week. For myself, I pulled up short throwing laptimes and podiums away rather than damaging someone's car regardless of price.

Thankyou to Paul for hosting today, an enjoyable day, including meeting Millie, what a gorgeous little girl she is, licked everyone to bits, and took special interest in Ian's thongs, taking to them with a hefty chew and walk around the house LOL.

Paul and myself provided the cars again for this weeks racing. The classes runt his week included:
- Ninco 1,
- SCX Tourers,
- Ninco Tourers,
- Slot.it Group C,
- Revoslot, and
- Run What Ya Brung (that you haven't run today)

This week we finally made a return to Paul's track for racing, it has been five months since we last raced at Undara Circuit. Several people had car issues from guides to wheels rolling away from their cars to guide wires breaking.

Another full turnout this week with Lindsay making the trip up from Stockton and Stephen coming from Warners Bay.

Throughout the day there was some exceptionally competitive and very close racing by everyone.

Ian started having deslotting issues and his frustrations came through again, I totally understand these frustrations as I go through the same thing more often than not, for me it is lack of concentration... and in the beginning was a poor (cheap) controller, he needs to race his own race.

There was some very close racing throughout the afternoon with Several lap records and quite a few driver best laps obtained by several people including Ray himself, congratulations everyone on your racing throughout the day.

I thank everyone for attending today and would like to send a huge Thank You to Paul for his assistance with the racing, computer, car tuning, knowledge and general help provided to all, thanks mate, it is appreciated by all.

Thankyou to Paul for hosting today.
Paul provided some cars again for this weeks racing. The classes run this week included:

- Run What Ya Brung (that you haven't run today)

This week we again returned to Undara Circuit, Paul's track for racing for the second week running.

Another full turnout this week with Lindsay making the trip up from Stockton and Stephen coming from Warners Bay, the only person missing this week was myself due to being in hospital undergoing major surgery.

There was some very close racing throughout the afternoon with Several lap records and quite a few driver best laps obtained by several people including Ray himself, congratulations everyone on your racing throughout the day.

We were down two racers this week with Lindsay and Stephen both unable to attend.

A great afternoon of racing was had by all with some excellent laps by all against Paul. Ray was a major improver this week getting podium placings. Congratulations to everyone and thanks for attending.
