Mid North Coast Slot Car Group - MNCSCG

A small group of guys that currently race every Wednesday in Taree, Old Bar and Forster areas on private home tracks. 

Our tracks consist of two MrTrax 2-Lane tracks, one MrTrax 4-Lane and one ex-club 4-Lane track. All our tracks utilise Race Coordinator software and Start/Finish Gantry's, three of our tracks utilise custom home made gantry hardware while myself (Shenanigans Raceway) is utilising the TrackMate gantry hardware.

I am actively advertising our small group of guys and doing what I can to bring in new members, I would like to get some evenings or weekend racing happening, if you are interested, please reach out for a chat. 

Due to us utilising private home tracks, there is a necessary requirement to be vetted by the other three track owners, which I think is fair. To do this vetting, I will open my private home and track to new people for this vetting.

'Shenanigans Raceway' is located in Taree, NSW, 2430 on the Mid North Coast, my private home 4-Lane MrTrax track.

Johnno - I have set you up a NSW Slot Car Group forum alongside Norwich, Presto and WHO.

And I've moved this thread so it is the first in that new forum

It's really no problem adding subgroups if people want them. However, why not start with inviting clubs to post an introduction and some race results/reports/pics etc. When we have a page or two of threads, then we can look at sub-forums. That would take at most 30 minutes to sort out.

In the meantime, why not aim to build up a nice cozy online home and get some of the guys over?

This week we make a return to Undara Circuit after several weeks of no racing, I've been looking forward to returning to this track, it has a completely different track surface to the other three that are identical that we race on, the surface is like a gloss finish with dots throughout, this surface has been quite difficult to tune the tyres for, I'd specifically spent some time on my Revo Marcus car tyres, well all cars and tyres. Into the write up I go with the Racing Results for this week.

We were one racer down, so Paul setup Undara Circuit to race on three of the four lanes, allowing two marshals and three racers, this week and a number of weeks going forward we will be without Jeffery. Jeffery really is the epitome of the Gentleman Racer. He really is the quiet racer.

Leaderboards and Podiums were again obtained by a mix of racers with Charlie, Paul, Johnno, Joe across all events, congratulations to everyone on your Leaderboard, Podium wins and great racing.

A few 'coming through' and 'Lindsay's' were carried out by everyone and chaos really was prevalent this week, I have been putting a lot more care into my racing so I don't deslot as much and ruin the racing for others and also to get in practice for the upcoming Enduro Event between Taree and Sydney, bit of info. here, Taree took out the first Enduro event.

Thanks to Paul for working on the long awaited COVID-19 delayed race-off between us Mid North Coast slotters and Sydney slotters in the upcoming Mid North Coast vs. Sydney Enduro Event.

This Enduro will be held on three tracks in our group, Old Bar Raceway, Old Bar, Shenanigans Raceway, Taree and Undara Circuit, Forster.

With C19 restrictions lifting, the Enduro Racing Event of 2021 is on the calendar.

Mid North Coast slotters vs. Sydney slotters? Which district will take out the win this year?

Mid North Coast are out to defend the Title, can we retain the title or will Sydney take it out?

Enduro Event 2021 Mid North Coast vs. Sydney
   

Into the write up I go with the Racing Results for the Enduro event. I will try to remember what occurred throughout the day...

For the results at each track, I will post them individually under their track name details.

Today was a special racing event between the Mid North Coast slotters vs. Sydney slotters. Thanks to John and Ronnie for making the trip from Sydney to race with us, hopefully the next meet will bring more racers for some great racing and all day some quite cheeky banter all day.

For this Enduro event we raced over the 12 hours at:
1. Old Bar Raceway (Old Bar), 
2. Shenanigans Raceway (Taree), and
3. Undara Circuit (Forster) 

a huge thankyou to Charlie from Old Bar Raceway (Old Bar), Paul from Old Bar Raceway (Forster) and Johnno from Shenanigans Raceway (Taree) for hosting this Enduro event and opening our homes to us all and for the tea and coffee. 

I really enjoyed it and glad I made all three race events. Was great seeing my Revo Dodge Viper getting it's wheels driven off it, just proves it is myself and not the car... long way to go for the Loose nut behind the controller.

Thankyou to Charlie and Paul for organising this Enduro event with the Sydney slotters. A thankyou to John and Ronnie for making the 3 hour trip from Sydney, this was a substantially long day for you both and adding even more great racing to our small group.

It was great meeting you both and Thankyou again for making this Enduro happen, I myself personally enjoyed the day even making a few podiums against other slot car veterans.

The Enduro meet saw multiple track lap records fall in every class event raced, some track lap records were even taken out by the same person in the same race by Paul himself taking six new track lap records alone!!!

From our group, Joe was missed all day having prior engagements, really Joe, what could be more important than slot cars? Okay mate family is, you get your pass ;) this time

Jeffery was unable to attend the first two tracks with prior engagements as well, Jeffery did make the final race at Old Bar Raceway and as is normal for Jeffery, he made the racing for me interesting, as we are both rookies compared to the other veteran racers. I started spurring Jeffery on with his racing, it has been five weeks since Jeffery had raced with our group, he was getting his feet wet again at Old Bar Raceway and with a considerable blind spot under the overpass he was slowing down considerably and was tiptoeing through this section with great caution as well as Johnno, you really needed to have faith that everything was ok and you would make it out the other side successfully, sometimes.

The various leaderboards and podiums were taken out by a mix of racers this week, with Johnno managing to take one podium position from the five events.

The Leaderboards and Podiums were again obtained by a mix of racers with John, Just Ron, Charlie, Paul, Johnno and Lindsay across all events, with Johnno taking another 1st in the Modern LMP, oh yeah, congratulations to everyone on your Leaderboard, Podium wins and great racing.

As is natural for Johnno, he/I performed a couple of 'coming through' deslots, quite a few of these 'coming through' manoeuvre. A lot of gentleman racing was observed to reduce car damage by all of us
