Ferrari 250 GTO
#1

This model is a rendition of the 250 GTO that raced in the 1962 Le Mans.

It was driven by Bob Grossman and Fireball Roberts and finished a creditable 6th. However this was the year when GTO's finished 2nd, 3rd and 6th overall - guess it can be called the year of the GTO.

it was a bit confusing finalising the paintwork as I found reference pictures both in Dark blue as here, and in light metallic blue.

Anyhow it was nice to do a non-red Ferrari.

Chassis is basic and I have used a 1962 Pittman motor.

The GTO Body is an Fujimi kit.

PS if anyone has a Revell glass set for a GTO (1/24th) and wants to part with it - please let me know.

Every home should have a Ferrari 250 GTO (SWB) whether 1:100 scale or larger.
