Show us your repaints
#71

Here's yet another "chassis no.1".  Just finished it this afternoon.

I should have painted the wing black.   Banghead  I'll probably strip it and re-paint it when the weather warms-up.

Best regards,
Stuart.

This is the first repaint I ever did so be kind.  Bigsmile It is the Carrera product. I put some insert wheels on it. Molotow chrome pens were used for the bright work. The interior was changed to lighten this car as it is a little 'porky'. It runs pretty good now.

Arup,

A stunning colour. Nice job! The colour reminds me of the Charger in the movie "Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry". There has been a debate about if it's actually yellow or green. It's has since been proven to be very light green.

Found elsewhere...

Quote:The subject of debate for many fans of "Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry" and Dodge Chargers is the color of the car used in the film. The color of the Charger is a 1971-only Chrysler Corporation color "Curious Yellow" / "Limelight" (GY3), which is a light greenish-yellow color.

Here's a Carrera Roadrunner in a spurious scheme. There were already two druvers racing these and putting masking tape on the roof didn't 'cut it' as I.D. for me! The silver paint represents a 'patch panel' as it kept getting severe orange peel at that location. I put CB Design 'steelies', painted blue, on it and lowered the body onto the chassis. The cockpit tub was removed and a minimalist interior from styrene was fabricated. It is fast!

Oh yeah... the side pipes are bits of aluminum tubing with a yellow LED inside. As it go down the track the LED flickers like exhaust! It's a fun addition that weighs little.

I'm still working my way, painfully slowly, through bodies I painted last year - even though most of them don't actually need much effort put in to finish them.   Banghead

Just finished this one yesterday.  SEAT Cordoba WRC, chassis no.1.

Best regards,
Stuart.

Left to right;- Mitsubishi Lancer WRC '04, Citroen Xsara WRC, Lancia Delta HF Integrale, SEAT Cordoba WRC Evo1, Peugeot 307 WRC, Toyota Corolla WRC.

The current status of these 6 repaints:-

The Lancer got cocked-up in the detailing process, when wifey jogged the table I was working on.  Stripping it back to bare plastic has been a real nightmare.  I do occasionally go back and do a bit more, but will probably give-up at some point.

The Xsara is fully built.

The Integrale is still waiting for the black trim detail to be finished, then the livery Martini applied and re-assembly.

The Cordoba is fully built.

The 307 is built, but needs the wing removed and painted black.

The Corolla is at a similar point to the Integrale, although it isn't getting a full livery.

Not much progress, 10 months on from finishing the spraying, is it?  Although, out of the second batch (5 in total, if I remember correctly - I forgot to photograph them after the initial spraying), I have fully built 3, which are shown earlier on this thread;- Alpine A110, Ford Focus WRC'03 test car, and Skoda Fabia WRC test car.  There are still (again, if I'm remembering correctly.....) 2 Lancer Evo iv bodies left from this second batch, waiting for me to decide what to do with them.

......And I'm starting to get a another small collection together.  When those will get started is anyone's guess.

Best regards,
Stuart.
