Thanks!

I managed to get some work done today: started with the plaster cloth along the new fascia, filling gaps in the table, repairing some scenic base, and planting fence posts and guard rails.

I also began unboxing some of the scenery - buildings and the like.

Slowly...

Need to get more plaster cloth and static grass, but hope to start throwing down some paint and texture this week.

It's amazing how the scenic bits and bobs start to bring it all to life.

Your track comes to life.
Looks like a guy was on the brakes too late in the first picture. Time Bigsmile

Finally had some time and was able to put a top coat on the plaster cloth and then threw some paint at it.

Unpacked a few more scenic items and just got my shipment of static grass.

Need to cobble up an IR cable for my timing system and then I'll really start on the turf, fencing, and spectators.

I did run about a 100 laps today after cleaning up the man cave.  Woohoo!

Nice looking track!  Thumbup

May I suggest making a custom "pillow car-catcher" at the end of the long straight? Some of those 40k NSR motors are crazy!  Ambulance

A few updates this past month!

I have done a little 3D printing of some scenery items.  The first is a pretty large pedestrian bridge for the little people.  It is meant as an homage to the one at Riverside with the Champion logos on it.  If you've seen the bridge, it is a simple girder-style that sits on embankments:

The inner embankment blocks the racing view and intrudes into the paddock, so I've made my version with the stairs coming out of the front - I modified and printed the stairs to do that.

I found the bridge on thingiverse in the HO model RR section.  I sized it to the length and width I needed, and printed away.  It is a 3 part bridge the way the files are provided.  I then added some lumber as beams to tie it all together and add some strength.  I then added the diamond-plate that I had left over from another project, some balsa wood, and a little styrene.

The bridge has two pins - one on each end for holding it in place to the scenery and allows me to easily remove it.  I did not want the signage larger, as I really like how the bridge looks and want that showing.

I still need to block the inside portion of the bridge  so the little people don't fall and the PDR gets sued for injuries.

I also found a nice hot dog cart on Thingiverse and printed two off.  I have since modified these both with some signage as part of the parts, but haven't reprinted them since I was already painting them.  I am always rethinking things after...

Found a few ice cream and hot dog symbols for the top, resized them, printed them, and glued them to the printed umbrellas.  All that is left is the signage!

Track is looking great Doc.  Like the 3D goodies. I’ll have to vicariously live through your track, as mine is in many boxes OR U could pop in for a visit as the temps haven’t breached O0 in a week. Wrench Wrench Wrench
