I'm into bodies

Looking Good!!!
Quote

It appears that the paint was the problem. Car cellulose just doesn't like my resin bodies.

I slapped some house paint on with a brush and it covered perfectly well. In fact, I'm going to leave the two white Masers as a brush finish.

Whilst I was playing, I did the Bristol with the emulsion I used in one of our bedrooms and that went on OK as well. Another coat and some Klear and I'll be quite happy with it.

I suspect that my racing life is over now. Because of where we live and certain health problems, I very much doubt I will be travelling  to any more race meetings. Such is life.

So the cars are just for interest and playing with at home. I'm good enough with a brush to satisfy my need for a reasonable finish so will probably do that in future.

Glad you got a result Gordon.
Racing can be fun at times but I too have ceased that activity.... our small group became slightly toxic with one individual trying very hard to win which made the atmosphere less than enjoyable.

Hi Anthony,

Nothing terminal one hopes but I can't risk travel at the mo as I'm trying to control blood pressure drops which make my dizzy suddenly. Plus the hands are cramping which may just be carpel tunnel. Combined with where we live, it makes things difficult.

Anyway, more cups for everyone else Sun

I've managed to still the shaking hands enough to apply some decals in reasonably straight lines. Holding a scalpel still when the tip wants to move a few millimetres back and forth is an interesting experience.

As these bodies are the result of my first attempts at carving slot cars I'm quite pleased with the results. There are others that I would call my favourites but these are growing on me.

They look great to me, sir.   Well done.   I wish I had your eye and talent.

Strange to think I did the wooden bucks for these back in 2017, had them cast early last year and have only just got round to doing something with them.  These were done with boxwood and cherry. That was before I rediscovered balsa wood of course. Glutton for punishment.
