SCX Hyundia i20 Coupé WRC
#11

Such an overdose of hot glue is useless.
I wonder why there is no hot glue on the outside of the rear axle bearings.

An advantage is that hot glue is easy to remove.

I have a hot glue gun but it goes nowhere near my Slot cars, Shoe Goo is much kinder to plastic as no heat is required and easier to remove.

Thank you for the Shoe Goo tip.
I will give it a try.

Get the original ShoeGoo, it dries in about 20 mins, the new stuff (v2) takes 12+ hours

Yesterday the latest SCX Hyundia i20 Coupé WRC version arrived.
It is the Hyundia works car of Spaniards Nil Solans/Marc Martí. They finished their home event, the RallyRACC Catalunya 2021, in eight place.

The navigator was missing from my car. Apparently normal for this version according to the seller.
We have to go a long way back in time to find an SCX rally slot car without navigator.
I still have a strange feeling about this and can't find any pictures of the navigator in the car on the internet.
Maybe one of you have already bought this latest SCX Hyundia version?

I added a navigator and seat myself.

Apparently the quality department had a day off when my car was put together.
The rear window/spoiler were mounted crookedly, as were the soldering of the circuit board of the taillights to the electrical strips.

I hope SCX will improve their quality control as it's a shame for such a well detailed slotcar.

In the photos below you can see that the colour scheme of both Hyundai WRC cars is more different than you would first assume:

Both SCX Hyundai lined up one behind the other at the start of a special stage.  Here is Sordo's winning Rally Sardegna 2020 car in front.
