Some cars provided for this weeks racing. The classes run this week included:
- Ninco 1,
- Ninco Porsche Cup,
- Trans-Am,
- GT International,
- Revoslot,
- Avant Chassis 'The Milko's' (supplied by Paul, bodies by Ray) *New Class today
- Slot.it Mixed,
- Fuel 1:24 BRM Mini Cooper (supplied by Shenanigans Raceway),
We eventually made it back to Undara Circuit after a few weeks of Undara Circuit being unavailable. This week Paul decided to run the track in reverse... initially I was not a fan of this as I was not used to this direction of racing, muscle memory, braking points, visibility all were thrown out the door... as the day progressed I started finding the flow, the braking points, the muscle memory. Made for an interesting day for sure, I'm not sure if I'd do this with my track, still thought for the day I guess.
Missing this week was both Lindsay and Stephen.
Congratulations to Nathan for grabbing some of his first podiums within the group, Ray for grabbing multiple podium places and Ian for his podium placing in the Trans-Am and GT International classes. Well done everyone on your great racing and podium places.
This week saw Johnno having many, many issues with cars dropping braids, motor wires and the worst damage being the complete breakage of the drop arm on my NSR GT International car... all up repairs this week my repair bench consisted of 26 cars, the repairs were varied as follows:
- eight braids (four cars: Revoslot x 2, Trans-Am x 1, NSR GT x 1,),
- one new car (NSR GT broken drop arm, gives me an excuse to get the new backup out),
- two rear tyres (Revoslot Marcus),
- six new motor wires ((Scalextric Trans-Am x 2, GT),
- ten eyelets removed and replaced with ten grub screws (Scalextric Trans-Am x 2, Revoslot x 3, NSR GT x 2),
The Avant Chassis 'The Milko's' (supplied by Paul) were kept in the same lanes with all racers rotating through the drivers stations. The cars are fast, especially with the bodies that Ray vac formed out of recycled milk bottles, these little cars kept us all on our toes with considerable differences in behaviour and speed between all of them.
The 1:24 BRM Mini Cooper Fuel race saw the cars again staying in the lanes with racers rotating through the driver stations. Some very close racing and surprising fuel strategies were in play as well.
There was some very close racing throughout the day with several lap records and new lap records being produced and quite a few driver best laps obtained by several people including Ray himself, congratulations everyone on your racing throughout the day.
