Shenanigans Raceway Race Results - Johnno

Shenanigans Raceway bridge lighting work undetaken over the past few days.
Wasn't quite sure if my 'power bridge' would work, it is a bit of Carerra track, wired all negative to one rail and positive to the other, and it all works.
The bridge lighting will run off it's own power supply allowing the lights to stay same brightness or be adjusted.
I tried those usb led rope lights from Coles, they weren't not bright enough and when the volts were turned down they became too dull then the rope light started falling off, glue isn't strong enough.

This writeup will lay out the process of how we went about it and how the class itself came to be born, so a little history first.
Subject: New class added to Sunday group racing.
History:
The class started with Connor, who has a NSR Formula F1 22/26 car that he runs in the RWYB (Run What Ya Brung) class, with a magnet, regardless this car grabbed everyone's attention.
This started a conversation with Solo and myself about adding the NSR Formula F1 22/26 and 86/89 cars as a class, when I mentioned to Solo that I'd thought about this class quite some time back even before the Pioneer Legends Racers came on to the scene, however couldn't find interest, other than Connor so far.
Current history:
Solo went off home and had a chat with Asher, his son, who also said he liked the F1 cars and would like to have them in our class racing.
After researching both the 22/26 and 86/89, the issues that one has over the other etc, along with our Founding F1 Class member, Connor already having the NSR Formula F1 22/26 car already and to keep costs down for everyone now buying their F1 cars it was decided to add both NSR Formula F1 models, with the 22/26 only needing a crown change to bring the two models to parity.
so, here's how it went over probably months; ending in actioning within days of agreement:
- Founding racer: Connor, RWYB Class, practice laps just because lol,
- Introduces NEW class: 'NSR Formula 1 F1 22/26' class,
A bit of research on both the 22/26 and 86/89 cars wasn't much in it bar a few improvements that made the 86/89 a better option, currently, so the class itself has been fully changed to be: 'NSR Formula 1 F1 22/26 and 86/89'
- Tabled by: Johnno, 'Shenanigans Raceway' track owner, racer,
- Seconded by: Solo (Geoff Solomon),
- Carried by: Asher,
- Supporting voters (silent x 2): Rod (yes) and Mydie (yes)
Motion carried: 11th July 2025, that NEW category be established, being:
'NSR Formula 1 F1 22/26 and 86/89'
Specific Rules to be established, remembering this is an 'out of the box' class, so:
Specific cars established:
- NSR Formula 1 F1 22/26,
- requires the Slot.it 27t crown 'Slot.it GI27-BZ-27T Inline Crown',
insert: BRONZE, crown colour: BLACK, suits 3/32" - 2.38mm axles,
- magnet removed,
- weight may be added,
- wheels and tyres trued,
- guide upgrade: the NSR 4859 racing wood guide ONLY,
- NSR Formula 1 F1 86/89
- No modifications required, other than below
- magnet removed,
- weight may be added,
- wheels and tyres trued,
- guide upgrade: the NSR 4859 racing wood guide ONLY,
Race Rules for the class have been typed up and sent to Solo along with printed copies to the racers at our next meet.
Thanks Connor and Rod for introducing the rest of us to the NSR Formula 1 F1 cars. Let's see how they go with no magnets.

NSR are the go-to F1's in our club for those who can't/don't want to build something and modify it to work better.

Hi Kevan, it was a tricky thing as most cars are when they are added to a group for racing. Out of the box with the original shore 30 tyres the cars weren't too bad, I can see them getting faster as time goes on along with possible softer tyre choices.

Maybe fit a pair of the new zero graining F1 tyres, they're now my favourite tyres on other classes, I even have a couple of scratch built Minis with those Z-grips Rally tyres trimmed to 9mm wide.

Yes I have completed my shopping list today lol and the NSR Zero Grip tyres are on the list

Not zero grip... zero graining
zero grip are fronts... no grip
zero graining are rears... uber grip

I've always wanted to create a class where you install zero grips on the back, and call it "Racing on black-ice in Toronto in January".
Okay, so the name needs a little tweaking yet.

Race results and podium photo's of the day's racing.
The Sideways Lamborghini Huracán GT3 race was a Fuel race, this was a close race with the winner, Johnno, coming down to the average lap.
A few more braids hanging on by 'a strand and a prayer' while Johnno dropped the guide wire on his Revo.
A good day or relaxed racing.
