Postage & Packing and maximum social distancing
We're planning this racing as a safe way to have some fun during uncertain times. So absolutely no-one should be hanging around in post offices...
The Pendles box is 19cm x 11cm x 5.5cms and will fit at least six cars. It will even fit two Auto World Top Fuelers lengthways.
The Lucky Bob's box is 15.5cms x 15.5cms x 6cms and fits more 'normal' cars, but is not long enough for a Top Fueler...
Even if you are happy with going to a post office... I am not! I am in the high risk group for coronavirus, so I am currently relying on friends for shopping and posting stuff. We've trialled the boxes, labels and post box thing - and it works. Hopefully - after the end of June - I will be able to slip out after dark and deposit returning cars into a suitable post box.
This also means that boxes will be in quarantine here for 24 hours after arrival and the cars quarantined for 72 hours after the post mark. Practically, that means you posting - at the very latest - Friday/Saturday to arrive Monday. Ideally, aim for a Friday/Saturday arrival. The post seems to be working okay, but there have been delays - so err on the side of caution.
I usually pack each car in a small baggie - just in case anything gets wet in transit - plus some bubble wrap around the inside of the box to gently pack it out.
Your cars will be returned in the same box they arrived in. I will need to be reimbursed for return postage via PayPal. Each way should cost £2.95 online - Royal Mail second class. So the 'race fee' payable to me is £2.95 per box.
I can keep cars here between races if you don't need to work on them. I'm happy to follow instructions for maintenance etc.

- Buy postage online (it's also cheaper) and print the label ready to drop the package into a post box: https://parcel.royalmail.com/orders/quick-delivery/
- Package should fit into the opening of a normal-sized post box - maximum 25cm x 7.5cm
- Bigger packages (up to 44cm x 35cm x 16cm) will fit in the new bigger 'Parcel Boxes' that are being rolled out at the moment. There's a list here: https://www.royalmail.com/d8/parcel-post-boxes
