The e-mail /Internet provider of my Mom: wowway.com is one of the very few independent ISPs still left out there.
At least one time a year they get flagged as SPAM/Malicious or whatever and I don't e-mails from her.
After a very long conversation with my e-mail provider they basically said they subscribe to a list of "bad" ISPs and always upload it without looking at it.
The list comes from, surprise, a committee within the largest ISP (ComCast, Nextel etc). The argument being that they get the most mail so they have the best idea.
The fact that a small, independent ISP can in no way be a massive spammer doesn't seem to enter into it...
I actually have a protest/contest letter I change the date on to get the ISP off the black list.
They (Comcast et al) claim they have good reason to blacklist but it sure looks like they are heaving the competition out of the way...
