Race report and results - 24th Sep 2026 -
Birthday boy George.
16 last week, the club bought him a new bright orange (Jagermeister Nurburgring 1975 R-Series) Scaleauto Porsche 911 RSR, a very nice car that he can race in many of our classes and theme nights. He seemed a little overwhelmed and surprised but really likes his new car which should go very well with minimal setup.
.
Grand Prix + F1
.
It’s good to see there’s still interest in the older GP & classic F1 cars:
The closest finish was Between Brian H’s Ferrari and Kev’s Lotus, finishing 4 car lengths apart in Heat #1.
…so three class winners here.
.
Of the four F1’s, three were NSR 86/89 models which ended up being four NSR 86/89 models after Andy’s Open Class Ligier embedded itself in the barrier under the bridge and didn’t work after it was recovered.
.
During practice, George was driving his new NSR F1, I gave him a NSR deep wood guide which made a lot of difference, reducing deslots by a noticeable amount. Andy had a drive of it and managed a 6.1s lap so it's a competitive car.
.
NSR Mosler 'Club Challenge 2026' #8 (club controllers) - track at 11v
.
Five ‘Club Challenge 2026’ cars (in heat order):
.
These are very quick cars, four of us getting sub-6 second hot laps, Dave & Geoff managing 6.0’s and Brian H managed a low 6.1s lap with the club Mosler.
.
Heat #1 ended up being the closest of the lot as Mike and the two Brian’s crossed the line less than a lap apart with Brian L crossing the finish line first in Yellow lane.
.
.
SRF F1 SIDECARS
.
Yes we enjoyed some good racing with these, both racing them and watching them… I mean marshaling without watching them, honest!
.
Six heats of trouble-free racing which ended with a wonderful race with all three outfits crossing the line just over one second apart to a round of applause as Mike held on to a quickly diminishing lead with Brian H closing in and Brian L closing in even faster!...a race worth watching (Heat #6).
.
Three videos this week…enjoy!

- Dave raced a resin Mercedes W154 Grand Prix car
- Kev raced a Scalextric Lotus 24 Prewing F1 car
- Brian H raced a Policar Ferrari 312B2 Classic F1
The closest finish was Between Brian H’s Ferrari and Kev’s Lotus, finishing 4 car lengths apart in Heat #1.
…so three class winners here.

- Dave had a couple of 2nd places and was really happy to manage that 6.0s hot lap.
- Brian H managed a 2nd place in his last heat whilst in Red lane.
- Although Geoff’s overall score was down a bit tonight, he did win his first heat whilst in Blue lane.
- Mike managed a hattrick of 2nd places and his hot lap was a sniff short of getting into the 5.8’s!
- Andy won two heats but a bit of a disaster in Red lane to finish 3rd in Heat #6, and another driver a sniff short of getting into the 5.8’s!
- Kev managed to win his three heats with a best run in Blue lane in Heat #4.
