Undara Circuit Race Report: Winter Warm-up
Wednesday 8th July, 2026
A biting cold winter's day couldn't keep the hardcore enthusiasts away from Undara Circuit, even if the freezing weather meant several regular racers were down and out for the session. With a lean grid of just three committed drivers; Paul, Ray, and Johnno, the stage was set for an intense, fast-paced marathon across seven different classes.
Fewer cars on the track meant clear lanes, fewer pile-ups, and blisteringly fast lap times as the trio pushed their machines to the absolute limit. Here is how the action unfolded across a marathon race day.
1. Trans-Am
The day opened with the classic Trans-Am class, where drivers had to fight cold track conditions to find grip. Paul adjusted quickest, putting on a clinic to take the top spot with 87.24 laps and the class-best lap of 7.507 seconds. Ray locked down second place with a steady 83.19 laps, comfortably clear of Johnno who brought up the rear with 79.43 laps despite maintaining a highly respectable 9.018-second average.

The pace amplified significantly in the GT International round, delivering the closest podium finish of the entire day. Paulo narrowly snatched the win with 91.54 laps, but Ray pushed him all the way to the buzzer, finishing a hair behind with 90.99 laps. While Johnno had to settle for third with 87.44 laps, he secured ultimate bragging rights by dropping a phenomenal 6.664-second rocket lap, the fastest single lap of the heat.

Ray kept up a fierce rhythm to capture second place with 95.66 laps. Johnno suffered a few minor deslots that hampered his total count (87.66 laps), though his raw pace remained evident with a solid 6.940-second flyer.

7. Slot.it Can-Am
The brutal, high-horsepower Can-Am cars always test a driver's nerve, and the cold air made handling these beasts an absolute handful. Paulo took the win with 78.31 laps, setting an incredible class benchmark of 6.122 seconds. Johnno navigated the slides skillfully to comfortably secure second with 71.34 laps, while Ray kept his nose clean to round out the podium with 68.44 laps.

Paulo completed an unprecedented clean sweep of the day's classes, taking the final win with a massive 134.31 laps. However, Johnno pressured him the entire way, finishing second with 130.87 laps and setting the fastest lap of the heat at a blazing 6.223 seconds. Ray was right in the thick of the action too, finishing less than half a lap behind Johnno with a fantastic 130.34 laps.

Race Verdict: Massive congratulations to Paul for an incredible clean sweep across all eight classes! Hats off to Johnno for snagging the fastest outright lap honors in both GT International and the Huracáns.
While the winter chill kept the grid small, the small-group format gave everyone tons of track time and resulted in some of the highest quality, closest racing we've seen all season. Thanks to the boys for braving the cold!
